The assessment suite aims to equip students with the necessary skills to understand the constraints managers and emerging leaders face in developing strategies to leverage advantages and overcome constraints and barriers in organisations.

Students will will create a SWOT Analysis on themselves and reflect on their current status as a manager. Students will then comment on their fit with the organisation identified in Assessment One. The second assignment should include:

Feedback received from other people you have been associated with. Feedback is considered naturally occurring data and includes conversations, emails, formal references and performance appraisals. You will need to reflect on who is providing  the feedback and how you appear to be progressing;

A discussion of the opportunities and threats that will impact on your management  journey, including self-development for continuous improvement;

Integration of theory and concepts from the subject, in particular Modules 2-6, including an assessment of your communication, values and ethics, experience with managing diversity, experience with networking and working collaboratively, your ability to give and receive feedback, your ability to influence others and your capacity to be a leader now and in the future;

A critical assessment of how you are placed or misplaced within the chosen organisation from Assessment One; and whether or not you see a future at this organisation.

SWOT analysis

Management refers to science and the art that helps in bringing the people together that can help in accomplishing the desired goals in a company. It helps in the integration and the co-ordination of the available resources of a company in an effective manager. IKEA refers to European Multinational group which is involved in the designing of the furniture, home accessories along with the useful home services (Ikea.com., 2019).  I am a sales associate who have been working in IKEA for the past one year and I offer the valuable information to the customers that can help them in making the purchasing decision in relation to the products. I have earned the management degree from the Sydney Business School that have helped me in getting the job. This report discusses about the methodology that have helped me in finding out essential information in relation to the research. The report elucidates on my strength along with the weakness which can be vital for my professional growth. The report states my fit with that of the IKEA that can ensure my professional growth.

The essential information pertaining to the research was found with the help of the self-assessment tools of the Gall Up strengths Finder, Myer Briggs Personality Type along with the Values in Action (VIA) Survey. The Gall Up test can help the companies in realizing value of the human power and it can help in planning the practical methods that can help in optimizing the potential of the people (Flick, 2015).  The personality test can help a person in associating with the other people that can help a person in evolving as a successful professional (Youngman, 2017).  It can help a person in focussing on the priorities of life that can help in the personal growth of a person.The usage of the psychological assessments can help in the observation of the behaviour of the people that can help in guiding the process of the treatment. It can help in the assessment of the mental abilities along with the attributes of the people that includes the achievement along with the ability of a person.The Myers Briggs Personality test can help in revealing the personality type of an individual that can have repercussions on the growth of a company.  It can help a person in obtaining the four letter formula that can help a person in discovering the occupation that can be suitable for him. It can help a person in understanding his strengths that can aid him in his professional development (Pelt, van der Linden & Born, 2018).  The VIA survey can help in the cultivation of the good lifestyle and it can be used within the framework of the corporate settings that can provide the education to the employees. The feedback that I received with the help of the performance appraisals have helped in furnishing the essential details in relation to my personality (Bryon, 2018).  The managers carry out the appraisals that can help in benefitting both the employees along with the employer.

On the basis of the Clifton Strengths test, it was found that I have the ability of the strategic thinking that can help me move ahead in the profession. I am analytical and futuristic that can help me in finding the solutions to the problems. I try to find a relation in between the reasons and the causes that can be of benefit for a company. It helps me in thinking about the factors that can have an effect on a particular situation (Kumar, 2019). I have the ability of searching for the data that can help me in searching for the patterns along with the connections. I have the ability of creating the vision for the future that can help me in energizing the other people. I can inspire the other people by showing them a positive future that can have a positive effect on their career growth (Gallup.com., 2019). The sales associate acts as the direct link in between the company and that of the customers and it can help in fulfilment of objectives of the company. The ability of seeing the future can help them in leaving a positive impression on the customers that can have a positive influence on a company. It can help in the creation of a unique shopping experience for the people.

According to Myers Briggs Personality test, it was found that I have the ENFP personality type who lays focus on the possibilities and shows the enthusiasm for the new ideas along with the activities. I want to extend my help to the other people so that they can realize the creative potential. I have the agility along with the ability of the expressive communication that can help me in showing the right path to the other people (16personalities.com., 2019). I am imbued with the wit along with the humour that can help me in creating the engaging stories. The people having the ENFP can give vent to the expressive ideas and it can help a person in creating the deeper understanding in relation to the human experience (Sellbom & Tellegen, 2019).  I am curious about the other people and I want to discover deeper meaning in relation to the people along with the ideas. I lay stress on the element of the individuality and pursue the happiness in the life that can make the other people feel contented in life.

VIA Survey revealed that I am endowed with the ability of the creativity that helps me in carrying out the new things. My personality falls under the virtue category of the wisdom that helps me in taking the right decisions (Viacharacter.org., 2019). It can help me in making the better judgement that can help me in evolving as a successful employee. It helps me in the promotion of the divergent thinking that can help me in solving a problem (Bleidorn, Hopwood & Lucas, 2018).  I can make use of the ideas which can be made use of for any kind of the socially positive purpose. It have helped me in becoming a confident individual that can help me in adapting to various kinds of challenges (Wright & Hopwood, 2016).  The creativity can help in the generation of the ideas which can inspire the interest in the other people. I have the curiosity that helps me in testing the new things in the company. It helps me in building the knowledge that can aid in my professional growth (Boyle, 2018).  It helps me in carrying out the new activities that can help in fulfilling the strategies of a company. It can help in offering me the opportunities for the growth that can be instrumental in increasing my competence in the company.

The performance appraisals laid bare the fact that I lack the ability of the time management that can help me in managing the various kinds of tasks within the department of the marketing. There are multifarious functions of the sales associate like the operation of the cash registers, providing the customer service and the management of the financial transactions. The company is instrumental in the creation of the inclusive culture that values the unique contributions that are made by the men along with the women. It has a great effect on culture of the company in the unique way that improves the performance of workers. IKEA works with the differences that can help the people in growing as the individuals within the framework of an organisation. The company forms part of UN panel on that of the Women Economic Empowerment which helps the women in unravelling the potential that helps the women in the area of the full participation in the economy (De Anca & Vega, 2016).  The company helps the women in achieving the financial independence which helps in strengthening the position of the women in the society. IKEA is a value-driven company and the company provides the support to the LGBT workers that helps in empowering them. The company provides the equal opportunities of the development that helps in contributing to the business of the company (Kirton & Greene, 2015).  The company contributes to the positive change in various areas of the business and the society. The company have joined the Workplace Pride which is a non-profit organization which strives for the greater acceptance of the lesbian, gay along with the transgender people within the organization.

A strength in my personality is my ability of the expressive communication that can help me in working along with the other groups (Boon & Biron, 2016).  I have the ability of judging the other people that helps me in the formation of the effective relationships among the employees of company. I have the ability of envisioning the future that helps me in the area of the implementation of the plans. I can motivate the other people with the help of my strong communication skills that can help me in reaching the goals in the company. I can promote the vision of the company with the help of my creative zeal which can help in bringing positive results for the company. The factor of the creativity can help me in the formation of the success of the marketing campaigns that can take the company ahead in the long run. The ability of the formation of the visions can help me in convincing the other people that can help in strengthening the bond in my marketing team. It can help me in leading the team in the future that can aid in the process of my professional development (Astakhova, 2016).  I have the ability of the analytical thinking that can help me in understanding the advice that is provided by the management of the company. I have the ability of understanding the expectations of the management that can help me to serve a useful purpose in the company. I have the strong communication skills that helps me in gaining and holding the trust of the other people in the company. It can help the members of the team in respecting each other that can contribute to that of the overall growth of the company.

IKEA lays stress on the element of the diversity which has created a conducive environment in the company. The opinions of the people are respected in the company that have acted as a positive force for the company. The employees should possess the essential skills along with the knowledge which can help people in surviving in the competitive environment. The people who are working in the competitive landscape of the furniture industry should have the creativity that can help them in making the significant progress in the company.
