(Collins, 2011)

(Burke, 2013)

The project is developed in concentration with providing the information related with Vopak Tank Farm in which it is being evaluated that many of the tanks of the Farm are in bad condition (Petit, 2012). These tanks are affecting the storage as the company is facing the issues with storing the unleaded petrol. Due to leakage of the petrol from the tanks environment is also getting harmed. Hence it is required that a management plan should be developed by PMO (Project Management Office) so that these tanks could be maintained and the environment could get benefited and so the organization could also get benefited from the project (Pinto, 2013).

The project is developed aiming to provide better as well as effective set of support to Vopak Tank Farm. Company is facing issues in storing the petrol as the tanks in which the petrol was being stored have became very old and requires a maintenance work (Burke, 2013). Hence, the report is being developed which will provide an outline for the project which will help organization in ensuring that the project will get completed within the time frame.

The report is aimed at providing a clear description of the how the project will be managed and how the problem of the organization will get resolved (Collins, 2011).

There are many of the stakeholders attached with the project. Management, project management team, employees, finance management, funding parties, government, environmental management and customers are some of the stakeholders attached with the project. This project will help in managing the requirements of all the stakeholders and will provide a proper set of support to the stakeholders with the effect of which they will get support to sustain (Movahedian Attar, et. al., 2013). It is necessary that project should not harm any of the stakeholders and should provide several benefits to the stakeholders so that they could manage their livings.

Project Head: Project head has the responsibility of developing the project plans, calling daily meetings to evaluate the project progress. He will be the one whom all the team members will be reporting and will provide project progress. Head will be responsible to manage the issues of all the team members and provide resolution to each and every issues faced by the same (Yang, 2013).

Financial Department: Financial department will keep eye on each and every transaction related with the project and will ensure to maintain the proper statements of the finances available with the company. The financial department will ensure to provide better financial solution to the project management team.

Project Activities

Team Leaders: Team leader will help in managing all the project aspects. He will be ensuring that the team working on the project should work properly (Mauboussin, 2012). They will be the one who will work as a link between the project head and the staff members and will be responsible to distribute the work equally among the team members.

Team: Team of approximately 50 people will be required to manage the work. There are many of the tanks which required proper maintenance and there are lots of works which will require the people who will work on the project and will provide a direction for the same (?iutien? & Petrauskas, 2012).

(Müller, et. al., 2016)

Time

Project will take approximately 8 months to get completed. From the planning phase to the completion of the project 8 months will be required. This is a hypothetical time which is being estimated on the basis of future predictions and evaluating the condition of the tanks. The project requires that it should get completed within the timeframes so as to ensure the success of the planned time. Proper description of the project is being provided in the project implementation plan (Rozenes, 2011).

Above is the explanation of the cost which will incur in each and every activity. The estimated budget is being provided. Again the budget is hypothetical which may vary with the market situation and the requirements of the project (Shtub, 2017).

Project performance evaluation is one of the most important aspects attached with the project. It is required that the project should be completed with proper set of evaluations and various measures for the improvement of the same should be adopted (Hyväri, 2016). This section of the project will include the discussion of various methodologies, tools and techniques which will be used in managing the project within the prescribed time.

There is a construction work required in each and every step of the project. It is required that the tanks should be maintained in a proper manner so that leakage could get reduced and business could work on the path of recovering all the losses which have incurred in the past years (Javernick Will, et. al., 2017).

Waterfall Method

In this project waterfall method is being used so as to manage the tanks and working on the maintenance work. Sequence of tasks is being performed so as to manage the work related with the tanks. It is required that all tanks should be maintained properly and they should be provided a proper set of support. Waterfall method will help in construction work of the project and will help in completing the same within the deadlines (Zhang & Ha, 2015).

Project Stakeholders

Critical Path Method

Another method which is being used for the completion of the project is Critical Path Method. With the help of this method project management team was able to evaluate the shortest path of completing the project (Liu, 2012). There are 5 teams working on the project among which proper division of the work is being done. In this project all the team members are cross trained and they know how to manage the work within the deadlines. Firstly the team will start with Tank 3 so as to ensure that the work could get completed within the deadlines. After all three tanks will be properly maintained then the team will start working on the other tanks maintenance work. The work of these three tanks will be kept of priority. The critical path method will help in providing the shortest time to complete the project and will help in ensuring that the project could get completed within the prescribed deadlines (Lee, 2014).

There are certain components of project performance evaluation:

Team Members feedback will be taken by the project manager on daily basis. Feedback of team members is one of the most important aspects attached with the project (Reiss, 2013). It is required that in daily team meetings each and every team member should provide the feedback regarding the progress of the project.

Just in Time is another tool which will be used to manage the project. There are various aspects which will be taken into consideration so as to complete the project. Just in Time is the technique which will help in completing the project within the required deadlines and will, provide a support system to the project management team to manage the tanks (Mainga, 2017).

Project closure is the last phase in the project lifecycle. It is a well known thing that when the thing is being started at certain point of time it is required that the project should get completed. In the same manner the project of maintenance of the tanks was initiated within the required time and it is being evaluated that the same will get completed within the deadlines prescribed by the project management team working on the team (Fleming & Dollery, 2008). There are several set of activities which were undertaken while completing the project and it is required that these activities should be undertaken while working on the projects.

Testing

Timeline

All the tanks should be checked properly first by the hand, then with the gauging tool. It is required that the layer of the paints should be checked by the project management team. While checking the layer of the payment it is necessary that it should be taken into consideration that the layer of the paint should be painted according to the standards (Turner, 2014). Then the tanks should be filled with water and should be checked that whether there is any leakage in it or not. Proper testing is a necessity of the project because project management team could not take any risk in completion of the project.

Project Checklist

It is required that a closure checklist should be prepared and all the things should be rechecked again. Taking all the project activities into consideration and evaluating whether all the activities are being completed within the deadlines or not will help in ensuring that the quality of the project is being maintained (Petit, 2012). Cross checking each and every activity of the project will ensure to provide a proper set of support in filling the gaps and ensuring the quality of the project.

Procurement and Contract Closure

Last step is procurement and contract closure. It is required that all the contracts should be terminated with the completion of the project (Pinto, 2013). It is required that all the contracts related with the project with Vopak Tank Farm should be terminated so as to ensure that the project could be closed. At the closing time it is required that Vopak Tank Farm should clear all the payments with the project management company and should start using the tanks. After payments will be released the project will be terminated and the team will start working on other projects (Burke, 2013).
