The studies suggest that transgender women are more likely to suffer from blood clot stroke and heart attack. Study conducted on 5000 transgender women has suggested that the chances of blood clot, heart attack and stroke is higher among them in comparison to cis gendered man or women. 

Transgender women are mostly impacted by this health hazard because of the fact that they tend to undergo hormone therapy. The transgender community tend to suffer from gender dysphoria as a result they are prescribed to inject female naturally occurring hormones like oestrogen in their system. The introduction of this hormone changes the external appearance of the male into more feminine features (NBC News 2018). But the introduction of the hormone has some negative aspects as well like thickening of the blood and hence increased chances of blood clot and cardiovascular arrest.

The possible method of intervention can be creating trans-friendly clinics which can help in the increased participation of transgender people in discussing their health issues. The government can arrange for regular health check up in different hospitals for transgendered people at subsidised rate.

The chief resistance in this regard may also involve the fact that some of the transgender people tend to omit all evidences of their life in their birth assigned gender.

They tend to not disclose their identity as transgender person. Hence participation in awareness program in a trans-friendly clinic is more likely to expose their identity as transgender. Thus there is a possibility that they are not going to participate in such events.
