Terrorism means the pursuing of power and the acquiring of power that can help it in achieving political change (Theconversation.com 2018). This article has been chosen as it helps in throwing light on the fact that the home grown terror cells indulge in harming nationals of another country so that they can fulfil their private motives. The fact that terrorism is an integral part of political violence have been brought about in the article by pointing out that Front de liberation du Quebec had kidnapped a british diplomat. It shows that the acts of terrorism have a hidden political agenda that drives these actions. The British government tried to solve the violent conflict that took place in Northern Ireland by taking recourse to military crackdown. The article has raised the important point that the terrorist plots taking place in Canada have political motives in mind. Counter-terror measures have been undertaken in Indonesia along with Malaysia that catalogues the religious fundamentalists who are speaking out in the public (Jackson et al. 2011). The terrorists want to draw the legitimate political authority into some kind of political confrontation that can label terrorism as an integral component of political violence. The article raises the question: What are the steps that can be taken for de-radicalisation that can help the governments in fighting against acts of terror?
