Make the sellers of food accountable for any misleading food customer may purchase for example if there is food poisoning because of lack of labels, the authority penalizes the producer.
Improve health of the consumers
Ensure safety of the food.
Recipient and goals of the policy
The recipient of this policy is consumers and the producers of food.
However, the main goal of this policy is to ensure that the producers inform the consumers on what they are producing and from the data they can make informed decisions.
The producers are also responsible for misleading information they give to the customers(Scrinis and Parker, 2016: p.240).
Implementation of the food policy
There are several laws that the law makers pass to check on the policy, for example the consumers protection act.
Government officers inspect food from every company to ensure they follow the law outlined in the policy.
If the company have failed some points, they risk penalty such as closing the company.
