Social distance is the measure of separation between groups. The human face is known to be a potent stimulus. During interactions, Individuals keep up eye to eye connection more than once yet for brief periods. Without eye to eye connection, individuals don't feel completely engaged with the correspondence. Other non verbal behavior used consciously or subconsciously include;
Facial expression: they are in charge of an expansive extent of nonverbal correspondence. The face is the principal thing that is seen consequently as nonverbal correspondence may fluctuate the outward appearance for joy, outrage, trouble and dread stays comparable all through all societies (Kipp, 2007).
Gestures: these are used consciously and are an essential method to impart importance without words. This may incorporate waving, indicating and fingers show numeric sums. For instance, in lifts an individual may wave his hand to a person inside a lift telling them to hold the door.
Body language and posture: these are nonverbal behavior that indicates feelings, attitudes and perspective of a man (Wood, 2010). It demonstrates animosity, boredom among other cues. For example, defensive postures like arm-crossing or leg crossing.
Personal space: this is the amount of distance an individual perceives to belong to him/her. It is influenced by cultural expectations, personality and situation factors ((Kipp, 2007). For example, a distance of 18 inches is required when having a casual conversation.
Appearance: this is a means of nonverbal communication as different colors, hairstyles and clothing indicate different moods. Appearance alters the judgments, physiological reactions and interpretations individuals have towards others.
Haptics: this is a nonverbal behavior where individuals communicate through touch (Wood, 2010). Touch can be utilized to impart friendship, recognition and different feelings. For example, couples hold hands when strolling at a crowded shopping centre.
