Robinson et al., (2016) in the article entitled “Culturally grounded stress reduction and suicide prevention for African American adolescents” discusses the various processes that are utilized in the matters that might influence the cultural adaption of the cognitive behavioral coping with and the intervention that assists the prevention of the stress among the adolescents of the African-American origin. The article states that the suicidal tendencies among the adolescents is one of the major reasons for the high mortality rate among the adolescents of the African-American origin. The age group that is mainly affected by the suicidal tendencies is the age group of the fifteen to twenty-four (Robinson et al., 2016). The article further states that the number of the suicidal cases within the community is generally underestimated.

The article states that the concerned incidents are generally underreported and underestimated due to the great amount of cultural stigma as well as the norms that surround the suicidal tendencies among the adolescents of the African-American origin. The authors of the article hypothesize the fact that the adolescents who had been participants in the Adoptive-Coping with Stress courses or the A-CWS tended to endorse the lesser amount of the items that are related to the suicidal risk. This is hypothesized in comparison to the condition of the control of the standard care. The article further hypothesized that the adolescent females are known to be endorsing the greater risk in suicidal tendencies in both the conditions in comparison to the male counterparts (Robinson et al., 2016).

The participants of the given research include the students of the ninth, the tenth as well as the eleventh standards. The participants of the study were enrolled in four of the public high schools within the chosen large metropolitan area in the Midwest. The authors demanded a written permission from the parents and the legal guardians of the concerned adolescents who have been selected for the study. The control group within the concerned studies aim at the exploration of the various significant effects of intervention that is grounded in the culture of the organization. This resulted in the conditions wherein the concerned study failed to deal with the determination of the relationship that exists among the various contextual variables.

These variables might include those that bear a direct and feasible connection with the major interrelated factors within the study, suicidal tendencies and the stress levels that are observed among the adolescent people (Robinson et al., 2016). The authors of the article suggest that the future researches on the topic must include the matters that are related to the increase in the sample size that would be chosen for the research. The concerned area demands more research in the future days to come. The future researches on the topic might be based on the matters that are related to the effectiveness of the various interventions that have been adopted from the cultural point of view. The future researches might need to focus majorly on the interventions that are applied to the specific groups within the study. This might help in the determination of the various processes that are utilized in the matters that might influence the cultural adaption of the cognitive behavioral coping with and the intervention that assists the prevention of the stress among the adolescents of the African-American origin. The research question in this case might be designed as “What are the major factors that have been affecting the suicidal tendencies among the youth of the African-American origin? What are the major impacts of these factors on the psyche of the concerned youth?”. The major variables that would be discussed within the study are the stress factors, the peer pressure, the self-identification and the suicidal tendencies of the concerned youth.

The participants of the research studies would include the residents within the age group of 18 to 30. This might include the students who have been pursuing their educational courses at the various high schools or even at their colleges. The participants of the study might also include the younger members of the society who have been enrolled at the several business organizations as the employees of the concerned company.

The research methods that might be used for the proper conduction of the study include the various factors like the survey methods for the collection of the data. This might help the researchers to collect a huge amount of data. The researchers might then conduct interviews with the interested participants to collect the in-depth data on the matter. The are also obtained the written assent from the concerned participants of the study in order to avoid any unpleasant situation and discrepancy in the future. The study would include the presence of the control group within the research. The control group within the concerned studies aim at the exploration of the various significant effects of intervention that is grounded in the culture of the organization.
