The purpose of this presentation is to provide the outline of the case study management and identify the effective theories that could be applied to the case study in order to resolve the issue in an effective manner.
According to Karanges et al., (2015) communication is one of the major factor in nursing practice that helps to provide quality service and many communication issues have been reported in the healthcare settings that have led to serious issues in the workplace, thus I have selected his issue for my assignment. Then let’s start with the explanation of communication. Communication is a process of delivering message through verbal, written and sign language.
Vermeir et al., (2015) reported that effective communication may result in effective therapeutic relation with patient, inter professional practice, helps to avoid malpractice or medication error, improved health outcomes, where as ineffective communication may lead to conflict, lack of engagement with peers, medication error, negative impact on service quality and poor health outcomes.
Here is the story of marry that I have chosen to describe the consequence of ineffective communication.
Such incident has indicated lack of communication, patient and her family lack information about treatment, poor communication between different medical departments, and inadequate delivery of important information that has resulted in poor health outcome and increased the risk of readmission.
The first management theory that could be applied is Johari window for self assessment as mentioned by Hargie, (2016).
