Introduction
The focus of this analysis was on the change in the rural and urban population targeting the top five largest countries in the world. The main objective was to determine the percentage change in the populations (both the rural and urban populations) over a 10-year period, that is, between 2005 and 2015.
Data and methods
The data for analysis came from “Extract from World Development Indicators 1”. Two variables of interest were looked at; the variables are, urban population and rural population. The data was also sorted into two categories based on the years i.e. 2005 and 2015. As earlier mentioned the aim was to investigate the percentage change in the populations. The following formula was applied;
In the first part of this section you should indicate the data that you are using, including any transformations or grouping of values and how you dealt with any missing values. The second part should describe the methods of analysis you have used.

In this section we present the analysis of the findings.

Conclusion
Results showed that all the top five largest countries in the world experienced positive growth in their urban population however, most of these countries had a decrease in their rural population. Future research should focus on determinants of negative rural population in these countries.
