Discuss about the Teaching And Learning Tool For Computer Networks.
Introduction
The report is prepared for the development of the network solution for Widgets and Gadgets for the expansion of the current business framework in another city. The network is designed for the four close building that have multiple floors in each of the building. The provided topology diagram created in visio is followed for the configuration of the network in packet tracer 7.1. The diagram created in vision has got approval from the tender process and for the implementation of the design in the current framework of the organization the prototype of the design is created and configured according to the needs of the organization.
Network Design
The following screenshot is given for the design of the network created in cisco packet tracer which is created following the current topology that is approved by the client.
The design of the network is created in cluster and for each of the floor of the building a separate cluster is used and is labelled with the name and the floor of the building. For the development of the network framework different VLANs are configured in the layer 3 switch and the IP address 10.0.0.0/21 is used for the preparation of the address plan. The network is divided into different subnets and the range of thee IP address are allocated for each of the VLANs connected in the network. Two routers are used in the network one is configured for connecting with the secret link of the organization and the other is connected with the internet. The logical concept of the network is transferred into the practical solution for the development of the network framework. The solution created in packet tracer is tested for analysing the errors in the network before its real life application. The router connected in the network is configured with DHCP such that the PC connected to each of the VLAN can be automatically assigned with the IP address. Different subnet is used for the different departments and the wireless access point is kept in a different subnet such that the users connected to the wireless network cannot have the access to the core resources of the network. The business function of the network should be analysed for the allocation of the VLAN to the network and following the topology diagram approved by the client.
IP addressing Plan
Major Network: 10.0.0.0/21
Available IP addresses in major network: 2046

Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that for the development of the network solution for Widgets and gadgets the current framework and the location of the office are necessary. The floor plan of the building is analysed for the installation of the PC in the network and the configuration of the switch for assigning a VLAN to the PCs. For allocating the access point to a different VLAN the switch port in which the access point is connected should be configured with the switch port mode access protocol followed by the VLAN number i.e. 950 such that the wireless users does not have access to the subnet of the network and the network is secured from unauthorised access.
