Write a case study on an agricultural cooperative of your choice. The case study report should be on a topic that is important for the chosen cooperative; be written from the perspective of a specified protagonist (manager / decision maker); have a distinct decision point; and include pertinent background information.Â
Â
The case study should provide details on the cooperative and have to include the following sections: governance, ownership, membership, distribution policies, performance and other pertinent issues/challenges the cooperative is facing. The industry and the macro-environment within which the cooperative is operating should be included in the background section. The case study should not include a literature review or an answer (remember that most great case studies do not have one right answer).Â
A separate document, the teaching notes, that outlines the discussion must accompany the case study. This must include discussion objectives and an outline of a discussion, including the opening question, discussion topics, and transition questions. Identify literature that is pertinent to this case study and summarise it.Â

For more information on writing case studies, please see âCase Writing: An Art and a Scienceâ (Harling and Misser, IFAMR 1998), and âScholarship and decision cases: pedagogy and standards for publicationâ (Lyford et al, IFAMR 2000) uploaded on Stream.
Â
As well as preparing the two documents there will also be a session where you will present your case study. We will post the details about the presentation at later stage.Â
Â
Final versions of Part A and Part B will be submitted after the case study discussion.Â
