Equality and diversity in organisation (To draw upon and refer to the variety of examples of equality/diversity policies in the literature, using these to conduct an audit of the organisation’s policies in equality/diversity. This requires you to explain which policies the company has in place in terms of procedures, positive action policies, training, harassment policies, terms and conditions and so on. However, you must go beyond merely describing what it is in place, and critically discuss its actions, policies and so on in the light of the academic material).

a. Evidence of equality/inclusion or inequality/exclusion – E.g. is there evidence that some groups are discriminated?

b. Measures taken to provide equality and manage diversity – Diversity strategy (is diversity part of the mission and strategy) – Written policies and statements, practices, structures – Organisational culture

c. Implementation of the measures – Obstacles/difficulties in implementation; facilitation of implementation

d. Outcome of the measures – What are the effects of diversity efforts?
