The Lion King (2019) is a remake of the animated Disney film with the same name which was released in the year 1994. The latest version which will be releasing in the year 2019 is an American musical drama film that is both directed and produced by Jon Favreau. The screenplay is written by Jeff Nathanson and the movie is produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The remake for the movie was decided in 2016 after the success of the movie The Jungle Book, which was also directed by Jon Favreau. The principal production began in mid-2017, in Los Angeles, on a blue screen stage. The release date for the movie in The United States is on July 19, 2019. The movie is packed with intense visual effects and great vocal performance. The review of the movie is a mixed reaction from the critics, but most of it was for the film being too derivative of the original movie and was described as “soulless”.

The plot of the remake movie The Lion King

The movie depicts that, the Lion King Musafa is an idol for his son Simba and the story of the movie revolves in the plains of Africa. Simba is the new born son of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. Musafa introduces Simba to the pride lands, and he explains the responsibilities of kingship and “circle of life” which he believes connects every life on earth. The new cub is not welcomed by everyone in the kingdom especially Scar, the brother of Mufasa, who is also a former heir to the throne and he has his own plans to capture the thrown of the kingdom. The battle for the Pride Rock leads to Simba’s exile. Now, it is time for Simba to figure out the way to his rightful kingdom and in the meanwhile grow on his own.
