Thor is known as a superhero movie that was based on Marvel Comics, in which it has similar named characters. The Marvel Studios produced the movie with the distribution by the Paramount Pictures. Thor is considered to be the 4^th movie amongst MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Director of the movie was Kenneth Branagh and the writer of the movie was Ashley Edward Miller, Don Payne and Zack Stentz. The movie depicts that the character Thor is banished from Asgard to the planet earth stripped from his power and the iconic hammer during a hidden war. In the movie, Thor has to prove his worth as Loki, his brother tried stealing his throne from him. 

The cast of the movie, Thor was astonishing group of people. Chris Hemsworth played the main character of Thor. Thor was supposed to be the crown prince of Asgard. The character was built upon the understanding about the comic character and was concluded as a real person by depicting his relationship with his family and closed ones. The character of Chris Hemsworth was executed by taking complete inspiration from the comic character. Chris Hemsworth tried keeping the character as real as he could by learning the style of fighting style from the comic and recognized the connection from ground. He worked very hard on and off the set by transforming his style, physique and posture as the character Thor. Natalie Portman is also one of the leading roles of Thor; she played the role of Jane Foster. Jane Foster was a role of a scientist and the love interest of Thor. Although in the original comic, Jane Foster was a nurse but the movie altered her role by an astrophysicist. The role of the brother in the movie Thor, who tried taking over the throne of Asgard was Tom Hiddleston as the character Loki. Loki was the adopted brother of Thor, the nemesis. Tom Hiddleston auditioned for the role of Thor but was found fit for Loki. Loki was originally the comic book description of the character Edmund in the King Lear, but is nastier. Stellan Skarsgard played the role of Erik Selvig who was the scientist of New Mexico, who surprisingly encountered across Thor. Erik Selvig decided to accept the offer in Thor, as he wanted to portray a completely different character in his career. The character of Laufey was embodied by Colm Feore. Colm Feore played the role of Loki’s biological father. The character apparently took around five hours to be shaped as Laufey. Volstagg was played by Ray Stevenson, the character was one of the members of Warriors Three, which was an assembly of adventures of three Asgardian and was the closest comrades of Thor. The character was known for wide girth and hearty appetite. The role of Volstagg was played by Ray Stevenson, the well-aware guard of Bifrost Bridge, Asgard.
