Demonstrate a critical review of personal assumptions and beliefs as a coach, evaluating how this has influenced your ability to coach.

Guidance:

There is considerable flexibility on the approach taken to answer the brief and the parameters for your report should be clearly laid out from the start. Ensure that the report clearly covers all three learning outcomes.

An evidence-based approach is required along with credible justification throughout. For those coaching it is recommended that the report identifies your assumptions and beliefsin relation to coaching practice at the outset of the module. It is further recommended that you maintain (and present) some form of relevant journal/record o support the content. This journal should then detail a coaching journey and the changes to these assumptions and how this impacts on your coaching practice.

For those not currently coaching it is recommended that the report identifies your assumptions and beliefs in relation to coaching practice at the outset of the module. The report should then, using relevant high performance coaching principles, take the form of a written, evidence-based strategic plan to enhance the environment an athlete performs in to aid their development in a high performance setting. The plan should demonstrate how the environment that a player performs within will be enhanced to aid in their development within a high performance setting. Use relevant case studies where appropriate to support the plan you produce. This could be done through the observation of a coaching environment through UCFB or external partner to support your observations.

It is anticipated that detailed appendices will be required to support the main body of the report.
