COVID-19 is the global pandemic going on in the world Due to the COVID-19 many things have been dying and the same is happening with the cinema. Cinema is the most entertaining place for every generation to visit and watch movies. Cinema is the word which reminds the beautiful time we have spent with our friend and family and watched different movies with them. Before the start of COVID-19, I went to the cinema with my friends on my birthday. I enjoyed a lot on that day. Whenever I heard the name ‘cinema’ I got a flashback of how the life is used to be and how I used to spend time with my family and friends. The word cinema reminds thousands of amazing memories spent in the cinema hall with friends.

Cinema is the most entertaining platform for every generation. Anyone can watch their favourite movies they’re with their family and friends. The movie industry has been hit hard due to COVID-19 because another online platform is becoming more popular among youth and youngsters (Moon, 2020). An online platform like Netflix, HBO Max. Amazon Prime platform is gaining more popularity during the pandemic. People have forgotten the way they used to hang out with their parents or friends in the cinema hall and watch their favorite movies (Coughlin, 2017). However, online platforms are good but the quality of the picture and sound are not the same as it has to be in cinemas. I remember we used to go cinema because of the sound get in the cinema.

The picture and sound are so good that a person got a real-life experience and feels as if they are feeling the visuals (Øfsti, 2020). Watching movies in the cinema will provide refreshment in the world of the busy schedule. On weekends people can stay outside their home and enjoy the weekend by watching movies with their friends and family and give a break to their busy schedule. One will get different movie options at a cinema at a single time. It up to the person which movie they wish to watch. The people have the craze and competition among their group that who’s going to watch a movie first (Correia, & Barbosa, 2018). This will bring joy to the people. The big screen will attract all the attention and people like to watch movies on the big screen and enjoy their illusion and graphics.

Why Online Platforms Are Gaining Popularity During the Pandemic

There are some online platforms like Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon prime and people can watch movies or series at their home. However, they won’t get the freedom to go cinema and watch the movies according to their release (Shattuc, 2020). I personally used to watch online series but it did not give me a thrill which I used to experience in cinema. In COVID-19 when no one is allowed to go outside that time maybe it is the best option to stay at home and watch the movies with your family but no one can beat the spark created by the cinema. Once all this gets over, people will once again go back to the cinema hall and enjoy their time at the cinema hall. Cinema is being dead in time of COVID-19 but I wish that when everything goes at its normal position, that time cinema will come to its position and start entertaining like they have entertained us later (Marchessault, 2019). Cinema is the best platform a person can visit in their free time and will enjoy the moments will friends and family. I wish that cinema will be back at the place it used to be before covid-19.

From the above discussion, it has to be concluded that, COVID-19 has affected the culture of cinema and maybe it has been the end of cinema. However, there are many pros of cinema-like, it will give an entertainment on the big screen and people gat a time to spend some quality of time with friends and family. Thus, we wish that after the pandemic cinema will get back in its place and we will be able to enjoy the facilities.
