Supply Chain Management and Logistics Assessment Answers

Logistics mainly refers to the various activities that occur within boundaries of a particular company and supply chain is based on the networks of various organizations that are working together and are coordinating the actions for delivering a particular product to the market. Logistics Management aims at dealing with effective and efficient management of the daily activity in the production of finished services and goods of the organization. Supply Chain can be defined as a network of the firms which are mainly involved in various processes and activities through the downstream and upstream connections which can offer value in form of the services and products to the end consumers. Supply Chain Management or SCM is mainly based on the management of location, transportation, production and inventory between the various participants who are a part of the supply chain for the purpose of achieving an effective combination of the efficiency and responsiveness for the particular market which is being targeted. Inbound logistics is based on the proper movement of the raw materials and the goods from various suppliers to the organization. On the other hand, outbound logistics is based on proper movement of the finished products from the organizations to the end customers. Transport and logistics include two different types of the activities that include the traditional services like sea, air and land transportation, customs clearance, value-added services and warehousing that includes consulting and information technology.

The assessment aims at enhancing the understanding of students related to management of supplier relationships, logistics management and supply chain management and the ways by which it can help organizations in expansion of their businesses in global market. The course aims at equipping the students with professional training and knowledge for designing and managing supply chain related systems and logistics in an effective manner from the obtaining raw materials and further safeguarding the ethical processes of manufacturing methods to the point related to consumption. The course related to Supply Chain Management and Logistics can help the students to connect with the broad business strategies for driving the great results. The students will also be prepared for the dynamic business-related environment developing the leadership skills and understanding the ways by which the theories of conceptual management can be applied to the real-world based scenarios. The students can also gain competencies in creative problem-solving strategies, critical thinking and strategic reasoning that are required for succeeding in the real world-based scenario.
