Human Resource Management

The N630M2 - human resource management programme is a one-year course for students who are seeking to attain a master’s degree in the field of human resources and management. The course is entirely focused on allowing the peers to prevail in a flexible and comprehensive educational course such that they can enhance their career and professional service in the field of human resources and management. The course also provides opportunities for pursuing specialist individuals’ principles and activities that might be of their specific interests. The course material will allow the students to gain significant expertise, knowledge, and skills necessary for performing the role of practitioners who needs to implement focus on the integration of theories and practices for developing their knowledge base, behaviours, and skills both in the academic and professional field. The program is a combination of pedagogical structures involving research and practice-led teaching, which ensures that all the course materials and the lecture notes will allow the students to attain opportunities of learning and practise new knowledge and integrate the experiences for resolving complicated HRM problems, alongside a view of creating a positive influence within the business world.

The course programme is also designed in a pattern such that the students can establish a solid foundation in the field of knowledge, analytical, and research skills as these are necessary for working successfully in the human resource and management environment. The core modules of this program involve coverage of people’s practice, culture and behaviour, commercial perceptions for Human Resource Management, analytics and creation of values, digital working and change management. A comprehensive Human Resource Professional Portfolio includes the core attributes required to be an efficient human resource specialist or professional, alongside ethical principles, working inclusively, valuing other people’s concerns and situational decision making. To make the students proficient in all of these aspects and parameters, a broader range of assessments will be embedded throughout the modules, allowing the students to demonstrate graduate characteristics through several methods. The assignments through which the students will be evaluated and graded accordingly by the assessors will include analysis of different case studies related to human resources and management, presentations, exams, multiple-choice questions, and internal exams that will be conducted bi-weekly reports, essays and self-reflection. In semester two and semester three, the students are also required to submit a dissertation relevant to the topics covered throughout the course module. The dissertation will serve as a Capstone module for the students. However, students can choose between more conventional academic research studies or a research-embedded placement project. The assessor will provide assignments to the students bi-weekly and provide multiple choice questions every month, which will be carried overall as internal assignments. The programme is distinctive in the range of elective modules provided and the opportunity to complete a more conventional dissertation or a research project. The students are also required to submit an HR professional portfolio which will serve to enhance employability and develop strong senses related to professional identity. Learning outcomes Upon successful completion of the course module and assignments, the students will be able to sustain the following outcomes: a) A comprehensive apprehension of knowledge and critical awareness of existing complexities and new information that are informed and confronted by the academic disciplinary assessors or lecturers of the human resource management for every team. b) The students will be able to prevail in conceptual apprehension of the topics that will enable them in critical evaluation of the existing research and advanced scholarship in human resource management. c) Completing all the assignments will allow the students to demonstrate self-direction and originality while tackling and resolving the complexities while acting autonomously in planning and incorporating activities both at an academic and professional level. d) The students will be able to deal with complicated issues both through systematic and creative parameters such that they can initiate sound judgments while serving as professional human resource specialists in their careers. e) Students will be able to develop their ability to applicant of knowledge and apprehension of human resource management to complicated issues, involving the ability to convert the theories into practice right from a crucial and informative perspective. f) The students will be able to work effectively within professional teams once they start their careers. They will also be self-aware and reflective and establish qualities and transferable skills required for effective career development. g) Students will gain a deep understanding of the social accountabilities and their role as global citizens.

The course is a one-year program for students who have already completed their degree in human resource management and are looking to enhance their professional quality. This is an intense human resource management course, and the students are required to solve a broad range of assignments during the course duration. This course entails an overall 30% grade for the semester. Students must complete the biweekly internal assessments, which will be provided to them by the lecturers and the assessors. The markings will include their attendance at the lectures and behavioural attributes. Subsequently, the students also need to complete the individual reports, which will include case study analysis, and every student will obtain different case scenarios for submitting their reports. The majority of the percentage of this course will be drafted for the dissertation paper, which the students will prepare accordingly based on the topics of human resource management. The topic will be confirmed by the assessor right from the start to mitigate the risks of conflicts and other complexities in between. Lastly, a major exam will also be taken for every student where every student needs to attain a minimum of 40% marks to attain a degree and passing certificate.
