Task:
Evidence-based progress report Learning Outcomes · Critically evaluate influence of feedback on approach towards EBI · Critically review different sources of evidence · Summarize ethical issues concerning EBI · Critically reflect influence of position in respective organization on EBI Word limit: 2000 words TMA 02 is marked out of 100 marks and has a weighting of 25% of your overall continuous assessment score. Please make sure that you read all parts of the TMA and the guidance notes carefully before attempting this TMA. Prerequisite of this TMA is that peer and tutor feedbacks are received while working on TMA1 in systematic and periodic manner at various intervals to help strengthen the initiative and eliminate any possible lacunas. TMA 02 is a review of the progress made so far on your EBI.
The reflective element is focused on the extent to which you have reflected on and made changes to your evidence-based proposal. An important element within the TMA is the inclusion of a review of different sources of evidence and demonstration of the ability to critically review a range of potential sources of evidence. This task also requires you to demonstrate a basic grasp of research ethics and the part played by research ethics in using evidence to inform your EBI. You are also expected to show skills of critical reflection in both the choice of research evidence and the issues that using this evidence may engender (i.e. caveats attached to various types of evidence). Write a report to your tutor that: 1. Critically evaluates how tutor and peer feedback have impacted on your approach and changes to your evidence-based proposal. (250 words) 2. Provide a critical review of different sources of evidence that you propose to use for your EBI.
1. Any potential bias in the evidence that you may wish to use and how you will deal with this.
2. Stakeholder influence on the EBI proposal.
3. Issues around access to data/evidence that you will need for your EBI. 4. How the EBI is likely to be used by your organisation. 3. Provide a summary of how you have considered ethical issues within your study (350 words). Based on the nature of the problem identified and proposed EBI, detail specific ethical issues concerning collection of data following various cycles of inquiry and how you deal with them; confidentiality of data and who will be privy to the results of the study. 4. Provide a critical reflection on how your position in terms of power in your organisation may affect your evidence-based proposal (400 words). • This should include: 1. How your position may affect evidence gathering.
2. Any constraints over the use of data gathered as evidence within your proposal. 3. Confidential information that may be disclosed during any interviews or focus groups as part of the evidence gathering process and how you might deal with this. TMA 02 guidance In this TMA we are looking for evidence that you have engaged in a number of cycles of inquiry. Your report will reflect this in critically evaluating how tutor and peer feedback have impacted on your approach and the changes you have made to your EBI proposal. TMA 01 expected you to begin to take a critical approach to evidence whilst this TMA expects you to write a substantial review of the different sources of evidence you propose – or have already begun to use as part of your EBI. This needs to include any potential bias in the evidence that you may wish to use and how you will deal with this. At this point we would also like you to consider any potential issues regarding access to data.
