Main tips which i can use or an individual can use to improve his or her listening skills inc lude ; (i). Maintaining eye contact - By looking keenly, you will have an easier time paying attention. (ii).Use body language - skills such as nodding and shaking of head and gestures with your hands (iii) Practice patience - learn to resist the urge to have something to say in return, and listen carefully before answering . (iv) Empathize - it is important to try to make the habit of seeing things from the point of view. (v)Acknowledge - Because we are unable to understand what an indivi dual undergoes through then we have to acknowledge the fact. (vi) Being present - keep focused. (vii) Avoiding answering electronic interrupter - phones , PDA , emails and other things Listening co nditions someone to become more compassionate, patient, and nurturing people, it takes one out of his or her tendency towards self absorption and self interest connecting us with world around us. 2 Benefits of these skills are allowing people to organize th e information that they hear, understanding its context or relevance, recognize unstated assumptions, make logical connections between ideas, and determine the truth values and drawing conclusions on given information . 3 REFERENCE.
