Abner Walk 3 Miles Per Hour At This Rate How Long Will It Take For Him To Walk 7?

Referencing Styles : MLA | Pages : 1

The progress of events and existence, which is continued and indefinite along with the successor of the past, which is irreversible is known as the Time. There are three types of period of time and they are the past, present and future. Numerous measurement numerous measurement’s component quantity is the time which is used to compare the event duration, event sequencing, measure the intervals between certain events, and to quantify the changed rate of quantities in conscious experience and material reality. Often the time is defined as the fourth dimension accompanying the other three dimensions, which are spatial. Time is used to calculate the velocity and the distance. The use of time in the field of physics is defined as same as what clock reads. The units of time are the seconds when using the SI base unit. We calculate time in the form of hour, minutes and seconds.  An hour is consists of 60 minutes and one minute is consists of 60 seconds.

The magnitude of an objects velocity is known as the speed of that object. The use of speed is in the kinematics and the regular everyday life. The speed can be defined as the scalar quantity. In an interval of certain time, an object’s average speed is the distance travelled by that object which is divided by the interval’s duration. The common symbol used to define the speed is ‘v’. The average speed limit is known as the instantaneous speed when the time interval duration is approaching the value zero. The dimension of the speed is defined by the division of value the distance by the value of time. Meter per second is the base unit that is used to define the speed in SI system but commonly in the US, speed is defined by the kilometer per hour. In UK, miles per hour is used to define the speed. While travelling in air or underwater, the term knot is used to define the speed.

Distance is the measurement done numerically of how much isolated two point or objects are. In the field of physics or in regular life, the distance is referred as the physical length, which is estimated, based on various criteria. The feature of the distance is that the distance from a point A to another point B is equal to the distance form point B to the point A. In the field of mathematics, the generalized version of the physical distance’s concept has been used as metric or the distance function. The process of describing some space elements to be "far away from" or "close to" each other is known as the metric. There are two types of distance, which are physical distance and theoretical distance. Under the physical distance, there are many different types and they are travelled distance, straight-line distance, geodesic distance, circular distance. In theoretical mathematics, there are some unusual definitions of the distance and the names are the Manhattan distance and chessboard distance. Under the domain of theoretical distances, there are several types of distance such as levenshtein distance, lee distance, hamming distance and jaro-winkler distance. Meter is used to define the base unit of distance, which is in SI system. In CGS system, the basic unit of distance is Centimeter.

The given question has the values in miles and in hour. Length’s English unit is written in miles. One mile is equal to 5,280 feet, 1609.34 meters, 160934 centimeters, 1760 yards, 5280 foots or 1.60934 kilometers. This defined in the international agreement back in the year of 1959. A wide range of units can be described as the term mile such as Roman mile, Arabic mile, English mile, Welsh mile, Scots mile, Irish mile, Italian mile and Chinese mile. In the past, the mile used to be abbreviated by the term ‘m’. However, to avoid confusion in recent days, the term ‘mi’ is used to define the mile. Still, the use of mph to refer miles per hour is being continued.

We use the formula d = s * t to find the distance. Speed has to be multiplied by the time to find the required distance. Here, in the above equation the term ‘d’ is referring to the distance, the term ‘s’ is referring to the speed and the term ‘t’ is referring to the time. If the values of at least two of the above-mentioned factors are known, then the third unknown factor can be figured out easily by rearranging the equation. The above-mentioned formula is for the calculation of the distance. Let us see the other formulas to find the values of speed and time respectively. When we have to find the speed, we have to rearrange the formula in such a way that speed can be found out. The required equation is, speed = distance / time. Thus, form the equation we can see that to find out the speed we have to divide the distance by time. In case of finding the value of time, in same way we have to rearrange the equation. The find out the value of the time we have to divide the distance by the speed and the equation is time = distance/speed.

In the given problem, we have to find out the time. Abner can walk a 3 miles of distance in one hour. We have to find out the time that Abner would take to walk 7 miles. Hence, from the above discussion it can be concluded that we have to divide he total distance that Abner would walk by the speed of Abner to find out the required time. Here, in the given question, the total distance is 7 miles and as Abner walks 3 miles per hour, hence the speed of Abner is 3mi/h or mph.

Time (hours) = distance (miles) / speed (miles per hour)

Time = 7 miles / 3 mph

Time = 2.33333 hours

Time = 2.33333 h

Time = 02:20:00

Thus, the time taken by Abner to walk 7 miles is 2 hours, 20 minutes and 0 seconds.
