Odysseus was one of the greatest Greek heroes who fought during the war of Trojan and is known for the cunning intellect. In such scenario, Odysseus crafted a plan which helped in destroying the city of Troy and it helped in ending the war of Trojan as well. The entire story of Odysseus began with epic poem of Homer which is named as The Iliad, however, the second poem which was composed by him named The Odysseus helps in relating the tale of the Odysseus wandering the seas for ten long years as he struggled in returning from Trojan war. Furthermore, he mainly created the plan that helped in sacking the city of Troy with the utilisation of giant hollow horse.

Moreover, he is famous for his long Odysseus or the journey trying to return home after the different events of the war of Trojan. Odysseus ruled Ithaca which was considered to be the island kingdom and he was being favoured by goddess Athena for intellect and cunning nature. From the prophecy, it was being noticed that Odysseus used to stay away from home for a long time when he joined Greek army and attacked Troy. The war with Troy nearly lasted for more than ten years and after the death of Greek champion Achilles, Odysseus tried to devise a plan as to enter the city as well as end the conflict.

The main reason for the journey of Odysseus was to fight war in Troy. They have been fighting for years and then Odysseus tried to come up with the plan wherein he tried in building wooden horse and he tried to take some of the men take their ships away from shore so that the Trojans could not see them. The different adventures of Odysseus include the facts that after the victory gained from Troy, Odysseus along with his men began their journey home from Island of Cicones and after leaving Troy, they stopped to raid the island for supplies and it affected the overall management negatively. In addition, Odysseus along with his team travelled and sailed to end of world as to gain proper access to the underworld and leaving the underworld, the first danger which was being faced by Odysseus was Sirens as Sirens were considered to be the mythical bird like creatures whose beautiful kind of voices lured the men to deaths.

From the story and adventures of Odysseus, it can be identified that there can be proper learning of values and virtues as it helps in teaching that through proper determination, the different individuals can achieve the goals and through hard work, it will be helpful for the individuals to succeed in different aspects of life. Odysseus has commented the fact that the Iliad and Odyssey are important and significant aspects as they believed to be the first and foremost epics and they help in providing proper knowledge regarding life as well as culture in Ancient.
