Pathophisiology

Some of the most common musculoskeletal abnormalities are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. These are all considered progressive conditions which result in pain deformities of the joints and restrictions in mobility. Osteoarthritis is caused by the repetitive actions down the cartilage between two bones. This causes pain, and oedema to the affected joints. Osteoporosis is caused when somehow bone minerals are lost. These all lead to weaker and thinner bones, resulting in fractures, abnormal curvature of the upper back and loss of height. Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the immune system does attend the healthy tissue resulting in inflammation and destroying the connective tissues. It can lead to loss of function and deformity. All of these can impact the patient function through decreased mobility and pain. In most cases, patients may also develop depression because unwanted changes will take place in their lives. They may or may not be able to work as much as before or at all. Perhaps they may not be able to perform the same type of work. That financial distress can add to the pain which they are experiencing. One of the most common metabolic disorders that result is Diabetes mellitus. Some others are Hypothyroid Polycystic ovary syndrome and Cushing's syndrome. Most people with diabetes can have hypoglycemia whose blood sugar is less than 70, which has symptoms of decreased level of dizziness, consciousness and diaphoresis. Others may have hyperglycemia in which blood sugar is over 130 with the common symptoms of increased urinary frequency, increased thirst fruity-smelling breath. Diabetic ketoacidosis is another for people with diabetes, especially those with Type 1 Diabetes. Symptoms of this may include blood sugar consistently e remaining more significant than 250 abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dehydration, polydipsia, kussmaul respirations, hypertension, and death. Some of the common symptoms of hypothyroidism are weight gain, fatigue, muscle weakness and constipation. Cushing's syndrome has been seen to have many symptoms: weight gain, buffalo hump, moon face, striae on the abdomen, thighs and arms, fragile skin, slow healing of cuts and infection, or acne. Some Polycystic ovary syndrome symptoms can be considered irregular periods, enlarged ovaries containing follicles that surround the eggs and excess androgen, including excess facial hair and severe acne. Metabolic disorders affect patient function in many different ways. For the diabetic patient, it would involve a whole new way of life. They may be required to learn carb counting. They will definitely have to change their diet to stay healthy and often have to take medications to learn how to monitor the blood sugar levels and how to give themselves insulin and have labs checked more frequently to make sure that a1c levels are where they are supposed to be. Hypothyroidism is treatable with medications, so it may not have as significant an impact on daily living. Centrum has numerous physical changes that could provide them with a negative body image. Depression may happen, and it may require medications or therapy. They are also significantly slower to heal than our diabetes and should have to be mindful to keep up on their vaccinations and be away from sick people; for system people with Polycystic ovary syndrome may also have a negative body image. They are also at risk for infertility so they may need counselling and assistance. Multi-system health dysfunctions can include systematic inflammatory severe sepsis, septic shock and sepsis. Signs of SIRS are a temperature very much more significant than 38.3 degrees Celsius or less than 36 degrees centigrade, a heart rate over 90 WBC more powerful than 12 or less than four and a respiratory rate over 20. Science of sepsis could be more signs of SIRS alongside a suspected infection capillary refill more significant than 3 seconds urine output Less than 0.5 ml per kg over a one hour period a change in LOC lactic acid level greater than 2 Cardiac dysfunctions. People with sepsis are often hospitalized for several days or even weeks, leading to muscle weakness from bedrest death, depression and bedsores. There can be an added financial burden associated with hospital bills and time away from work.
