Literature Review This topic is related to staffing and employment regarding the age of workers being employed in the labor force to determine if there is a disparity when it comes to hiring a younger person versus an older person in the construction labor force. In construction, companies would need to decide if the applicants are able to withstand different climates and extreme weather patterns, able bodied, health, able to work extended hours and have strong cognitive skills.
The company would need to perform extensive staffing methods to acquire the right persons for the job. The human resources managers must follow all guidelines for staffing and employment of the workers. Age discrimination may play a vital part in staffing since the companies may not be able to hire older people. Many steps will need to be performed when staffing and recruiting for the labor force.
