Writing Annotated Bibliography for Secondary Research Assignment II

What are Annotated Bibliographies?

Annotated Bibliographies are written for any primary research work. They may be written from the author of the research work or from someone else. Annotated Bibliographies give the reader information about sources used in the research paper: they summarize them, they assess and evaluate them in various components (related to the research paper which they are references for) and they express the author of annotated bibliography reflections upon them (in relation to the article which they are reference for). The reader reads the annotated bibliography and creates a sense of the article and the sources used in article. Annotated Bibliographies may or may not draw attention of their readers into the article. The writer of the annotated bibliography must do an effective and efficient job to draw the reader towards and more closed to the article (for which the annotations are written).

For this assignment, you will write an annotated bibliography for the sources you listed in Reference Page in your Secondary Research Assg. I. Your annotated bibliography must contain exactly three sources; required - at least two of them should be journal articles and/or books. These are sources that relate to your Secondary Research Assg. I.  You cannot use the article that you evaluate as reference.

For each source the work must contain elements of summary, evaluation/assessment and reflection.

For each resource the work of the assignment must not contain more than 3 paragraphs. If this limit is exceeded, the assignment will not be read for evaluation; a zero will be assigned for such assignment works.

Assignment Guidelines:

Each Assignment should have a Title Page that contains the following information: the article title, the course name and ID, who prepared it, the instructor of the course and the date of submission.

Assignments are due to submit on line in the link provided for them accordingly.

Assignment must be prepared and submitted in Microsoft WORD document using Time New Romans font and size 12.

The link for submitting the Secondary Research Assg. II is located in Week 9.

See the Marked Works Schedule (or Marking Scheme in Course Outline) for the due date and time.

NOTE: The assignment work should follow the following structure. Failure to follow this structure may cause that the assignment work be marked with zero.

  • As you may observe from the above instructions, this assignment is to be organized in sections (parts) –placed in the given order: source one - with summary, assessment and reflection sections, source two- with summary, assessment and reflection sections, source three- with summary, assessment and reflection sections.
  • Annotated bibliography section (part): do the annotation for each reference source in the order you have listed them in the reference section of your Secondary Research Assignment I.

Please, pay attention on how the weeks are numbered in this course (Reading Week is counted when you number the weeks: it is the 6th week on the course).
