Short Answer Section—in this section, you are presented with two issues. You task is to answer them to the best of your ability in short essay form, i.e., no more than one page (single space) each. You will be examined here based on the issues you are able to identify that are raised by the problem, and how you apply the law, regulation, and history you have gleaned from class to the problem. There is not necessarily any one correct answer here, as I am looking to see what you’ve taken from the lectures, and what you add with your own critical thinking—there could be multiple interpretations of some issues, as we’ve seen from class. Just do your best to answer them in the fashion you feel suits the question. You may cite to sources using endnotes or footnotes of whichever citation style you prefer (these citations do not count towards the 1 page [single space] limit on room), and should especially do so if you reference a case or the opinion of a scholar who speaks to the issue at hand. (Scaling: 50 points for each answer—100 points possible.)
