GBI was founded in 2001 following the merger of two bicycle manufacturers, one based in the United States and the other in Germany. GBI has three business lines: deluxe and professional touring bikes, men’s and women’s off-road bikes, and bike accessories. GBI sells its bikes to a network of specialized dealers throughout the world, and it procures its raw materials from a variety of suppliers globally. GBI has two manufacturing facilities, one in the United States and one in Germany. It also has three additional warehouses, two in the United States and one in Germany. GBI has more than 1000 employees globally. The organization uses SAP ERP to support its processes. Although the company does well, they always look for ways to increase their efficiency, reduce costs, etc. Your ideas will lead to increased levels of efficiencies that will be well received by the company. Your Assignment GBI is the example that we have followed throughout the course. Therefore, in this assignment, you will propose (2) two changes to (2) two separate GBI business areas (one change per area selected) using the SMART approach. ? Take (2) two business areas and describe the issues that you experienced when using SAP. o Please choose from the following areas we covered: ? Procurement, Production (Make), Material Planning, Human Resources, Financial Accounting (external), Management Accounting (internal), Enterprise System, Fulfillment (Sell) ? Make two (2) proposals that would improve the company’s operation, efficiency, productivity etc. One for each area selected. ?
