Develop a Wellness Strategy for Seniors in Retirement Homes

Therefore, please do not email your professor as your assignment will not be accepted. Students are expected to project manage their time and take responsibility. This includes issues with not being familiar with FOL, computer dysfunction, uploading issues and/or inability to project manage time effectively. The only exception is for circumstances that are outlined on the Course Information Sheet (i.e. death of an immediate family member where you must travel to attend the funeral or illness that includes a medical note).As noted on your detailed course syllabus, your individual assignment(s) are based on your own personal experience and insightful knowledge, and not to be shared with other students. This is also noted on each of the individual assignments. Therefore, any time you hand in an assignment with your name on it, it is presumed to have been created entirely by you unless you indicate otherwise. In other words, you are to provide a citation indicating the information is from another source. In addition, any content you did not create yourself (i.e., ideas, information, data graphics, etc.) must be cited using APA, 7th ed. Resources re: APA 7th ed. are posted under the tab �APA resources� in FOL.

Purpose: The purpose of this written lab is to assess your ability to critically examine and understand key information that contribute to social isolation and developing innovative wellness strategies to support wellness of individuals residing in community living environment (which is not the same as long term care facilities). Hence, please do not rely on any research related to long term care homes as this is very different than retirement homes? Key questions are used to examine your research analysis, critical thinking and writing skills.�

Length: This assignment must be completed in WORD and involves answering key questions that are detailed in page 2 of this assignment. The assignment consists of two parts to be a completed assignment. Both parts must be uploaded to the drop box separately. The first part is the main assignment which includes your poster on the front page and the references on your second page. The second part which is entitled �storyboard� includes all your research. Specifically, your storyboard will outline all your questions and answers in a word document with the research evidence via the references. Please ensure a full bibliography for both as they might be different. As noted above, this is an individual assignment and it must conform to APA 7 referencing and writing style guidelines. A main rubric is used to assess/grade your lab. Resources re: APA are posted on FOL. The following are the minimum standards for all written assignments:�

Detailed Instructions: Your creative written assignment is to design and develop a dynamic strategic poster that is using an 8 ��� x 11� paper in WORD. Fonts: 16 for titles; Fonts: 12 .The strategic poster assignment is designed to challenge students with a real-time experiential learning project that will assist Season Retirement to Prevent and Address Innovative Strategies to Prevent Social Isolation. �

For this assignment you will research using relevant Canadian journal articles and databases to develop an awareness poster that is aimed for a target audience. The target audience in this case is Seniors residing Retirement Homes You will want to ensure for this poster, that there is a target persona developed to ensure a consistent brand voice. As part of this brand voice, Season Retirement are focused on wellness and adopting innovative tactic and strategies to create opportunities to prevent social isolation among seniors. �

Using key subheadings (in other words, please do not write out your questions/components); Your poster must include reliable research and answer the following key questions/components:�

1. Explain Retirement Living in the Canadian Context (what it is and what it is not). Please ensure that you do not mix retirement/community living as long term care as they are very different.

2. Relay what Season Retirement is all about (mission, vision, values and strategic goals along with who they serve).

3. Outline demographics of seniors (use CanStats).

4. Define social isolation and key negative impacts if the problem of social isolation is not addressed.

�

5. Identify from your own research what you believe are the key aims of wellness to circumvent social isolation among seniors. Specifically, outline what you believe the urgency to address to mitigate social isolation of seniors residing in retirement homes.

6. From your research, identify two to three key innovative tactics and strategies in the literature that will help to mitigate social isolation.

7. Identify what information or support will be required to address the key innovative tactics and strategies you have identified in Q6. Provide justification/rationale that your recommendation to the Season Retirement is the best going forward.

8. Outline what are the key wellness messages in a culturally safe manner appropriate for the target audience. Outline specific behavioral insights that will help support seniors not experience social isolation within retirement living. �

When answering each question, ensure you are providing APA in-text citation for all detailed information. Be creative and use visuals and symbols, clip art etc... ii. It is important that you NOT write out the questions as this will result in clutter. Instead use key headers that summarize what you are answering. iii. Please use the rubric as your guide as this will be used to assess your grade. iv. You can respond in bullet points but ensure that your grammar is correct. v. Follow APA 7th edition documentation. This is a A136 Academic Integrity Policy. vi. Ensure your poster has visuals and not cluttered. I encourage clip art. vii. Ensure that your poster be uploaded via PPT or WORD as it will be going through the Turn-it-In to check for plagiarism. I will NOT accept PDF's for any assignment. viii. Please ensure that your turn-it-in score is below 15% (this is on all poster information), including references. Hence, I suggest you insert your references on the second page of your poster. A Rubric is included below, which outlines the expectations for this assignment. Because you are uploading the assignment to FOL, please note that you must ensure the format is readable on the FOL system and must be in Word. You are expected to use the main textbook and PPT lecture information in this course and at least 5 primary journal articles for this poster.
