In order to beat the intense competition in the complex business, the organisations need to become dynamic by engaging its employee highly. An engaged workforce provide various benefits to the organisation. Engaged employees will enable the business to grow by being flexible, improved performance and motivation and leads to reduced absenteeism, and reduced turnover which will ultimately reduce the cost of the company.

Globalisation has increased in the recent past which has increased the competition in the market and in order to survive and thrive in the industry; businesses are focusing on reducing the cost. A company incurs significant amount on recruiting talented employee and training them and thus it is very essential for businesses to retain them in order to achieve the organisational goals effectively. Therefore, organisations have started monitoring the level of employee engagement within the organisation. Because when the workforce is highly engaged they are satisfied with the job. High job satisfaction leads to increased motivation which in turn increases their focus and efficiency at work and reduces absenteeism.
