We get to see an interesting voting pattern in and around America. Some citizens are way too reluctant to vote while there are people who are proactively informed and updated about their voting rights, the latest mandates and the whereabouts of the political parties they support. Every American holds the right to vote and participate in being well-informed about their government and its structure. In the U.S, like most countries, people who are eighteen and older are granted the rights to vote. In addition, all voters across local, state and national levels get to participate in elections.
All said and done, it has been found that many American voters tend to dodge their responsibility as voters and refuse to vote due to multiple reasons. Now, this has its fair share of consequences and repercussions. If you are eager to figure out the bigger picture by analyzing the pros and cons of voting rights in and around the United States of America, take some time to read through this write-up and uncover a plethora of lesser-known facts and facets for useful references on the go.
Let’s begin this piece on a positive note by evaluating the pros of voting at first. I am broken down this segment into three significant halves, each elaborating on the key benefits of voting.
Here’s everything you need to know.
You may think dodging your role as a voter is cool as it will hardly matter whether the vote bank loses a support, especially when you know there are other people to fill the void. And this is exactly where you go wrong. The truth is, no one really fills the void of another voter unless the person embraces illegal means and approaches. If you don’t vote, it will simply go waste and you never know an undeserving government might just get formed due to many such instances where an individual decides not to go out and vote. Every time you are voting, you are putting across your opinion, expressing your political views and inclinations and believe me, each of these aspects counts and matters a lot. Voting gives you the power to choose your leader, express your views and decide the future tenure of the political party? So, why will you miss out on such noble opportunities? It is your “Right to Vote” and never shy away from it.
Do you know several non-profit projects and initiatives don’t see the light of the day due to lack of revenue generation, support and visions? Why is that so? The answer is “a poor voter engagement rate”. It is said that voter engagements make nonprofit organizations quite relevant, both during and after the elections are over. The perfect voter engagement rate has the following benefits.
Now, if we consider each of the aspects mentioned above and the dimensions introduced in order to elaborate on the importance of voting for the betterment of non-profit projects, I don’t think voting as a responsible citizen is that bad a decision. Unless NGO other non-profit organizations are backed by the right engagement rate, a roadmap, and people’s opinion, taking a decision, bringing amendments to the existing structure and ideating long-term goals will simply get more complicated and unnecessarily challenging for us down the road.
Unless you participate in voting or choose to stay updated with the amendments, voting acts and legal essentialities in and around your constitutional boundaries. As a young adult and a responsible citizen of the country, you cannot afford to stay aloof or completely oblivious of what’s going around in terms of elections, electoral candidates, political clashes, clash of opinions and the likes. Imagine being a part of a debate on Politics and Voting and you are completely blank or somewhat clueless of what to say or how to initiate the debate in the first place? Will it create a good impression? I am afraid not!
Now that you are aware of the incredible benefits and key significance of voting, you must be eager to figure out the potential disadvantages of voting or being too vocally active in election rallies and the likes.
Let’s move on to the next segment and figure out the disadvantages of voting and what complications it can bring up. View Examples
Every phenomenon under the sun comes with their share of pros and cons, so does voting. Unless you will explore the cons, you will never know how to turn them into benefits.
So, take some time to read what I have jotted down below and enrich your knowledge bank like never before.
There are innumerable instances where politicians and political warmongers would exploit vote banks and electoral system in the name of caste, creed, religion and sects. Now, this is definitely an issue and a major downturn when it comes to elaborating on the major cons of voting. People using someone else’s emotion and religious sentiments in order to secure vote banks and manipulate people is an activity that keeps hitting a new low with every passing year.
We are gradually drifting away from the primary agenda or the idea behind introducing a voting system. Most politicians these days are keen on functioning with the aim to foster propagandas, misguide people for their own benefits and embracing corruptions by every means and methods.
This shouldn’t be the case and perhaps these are reasons and potential downsides that demotivates a certain group of people in terms of voting for their rights and the freedom to choose their political leaders.
The world is certainly not ready to sign up for a political party that breeds tyrants in the name of leaders, so does America. This can be a classic case of “voting gone wrong”. One strong manipulation and a couple of misleading agendas, and boom, the political party might just end up giving birth to tyranny.
While this is one downturn and a major concern, one should not step back and refrain from voting. Rather, the person should feel all the more determined and responsible to step out, vote and bring the much-needed change.
Now that you are of the bigger picture and the So, keep referring to more such useful pieces and keep enriching your knowledge across the contemporary political scenario, how it works, the history of your country’s political structure, so on and so forth.
