Service Marketing is the marketing which is based on the relationship along with value and it can be used to market a product or service. With the immense increasing prominence of the different services in the global economy, the service marketing has become the subject which needs to be studied in a separate manner. In different countries, the services add more economic value than the raw materials, agriculture along with manufacturing which is being combined. In the developed economies, the employment is being dominated by the different service related jobs and most new job growth comes from services in an effective manner. The marketing services are different from the different marketing goods due to the unique characteristics of the services namely heterogeneity, inseparability along with perishability.
There are different kinds of examples of the services which needs service marketing strategies include medical services, legal or online services, human resource services along with the consulting services that helps in managing the different kinds of activities in a successful manner. The service is defined as the action which is done by the person for someone else and the different examples or instances include the things or goods which are being bought by the different individuals such as the furniture, toys along with mail delivery activities. Moreover, the different kinds of goods include physical commodity that is tangible and can be stored in nature. There can be inclusion of transfer of ownership that will be making the services effective in nature. On the other hand, there are different kinds of services which includes intangible kind of activities such as heterogenous related products that cannot be stored and it is intangible in nature as well.
There are different kinds of characteristics of service marketing aspects which includes the following aspects which are described as follows:
Perishability- These are defined as the different kinds of services which can never be stored or resold as once it is being rendered by the different customers in the market, it cannot be delivered to the other customers. For instance- A dissatisfied kind of customer who has been not happy with the hair cut service, cannot get the hair back again. At the most, the customer may decide not to go to the respective salon in the future.
Furthermore, inseparability is the other aspect which should be managed by the company as it will be enhancing the growth of the company in a positive manner. It refers to the respective fact that the different services which are being generated as well as consumed within the similar time frame. For instance- Haircut which has been wanted by the customer and done in a simultaneous manner or the burger which is wanted by the customers and received by them within a span of sometime. Moreover, it becomes difficult to separate the service from the service providers.
There are different kinds of features of service marketing which is inclusive of the following:
Intangibility- It is the first and foremost aspect of service marketing wherein the physical product is visible and concrete and services are intangible in nature. Services are being created and consumed in a simultaneous manner and the service is being produced at the similar time that the client is receiving the similar kind of services in a proper and positive manner.
Changing demand is the other aspect wherein the demand for the different services has wide range of fluctuations and it may be seasonal in nature. For instance- the demand for tourism is seasonal, however on the other hand, the different other services such as the demand for the public transport or the cricket field have fluctuations in demand as well. On the other hand, the quality of the different services is not standardized in nature and the pricing of the different services are determined on the basis of the demand along with competition as well. For instance- The room rents in the tourist spots help in fluctuating as per the demand along with the season and there are many services providers who provide off season discounts as well.
Service Marketing is defined as the promotion of the different economic activities by the company to the different individuals along with the business-related customers. The service marketing is regarding the relationships even more than the other kinds of marketing and the effective kind of service marketing is important as without the same the service providers would not attract as well as retain the customers in an effective manner. In addition, the service marketing of the product sales helps the sales team become more effective in nature to make the effective presentations to the different customers as well as prospects. The sales guides help in representing provide the representatives with the detailed kind of information on the different prospects such as information related to product along with benefits generated from the product that will be beneficial in improving the growth of the company in a positive manner.
With the help of the service marketing, it will be helpful in establishing the value of the different products and services to the different customers present in the market in a positive manner. Through proper service marketing, the different needs of the customers are being identified as it will be essential in the overall growth of the company and it will be beneficial in conducting the services marketing for getting leads in the new business ventures that can be essential for the success of the company and generate improvement in the business activities in a positive manner. Through proper marketing, it will be helpful for creating proper relationship with the audiences that will be helpful for making money and it is the essential channel to reach to the end goal that will be effective in growth of the business related activities.
