Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are closely linked, as the products of one process are used as the reactants of the other. Plants produce oxygen through photosynthesis, which is then used by animals during cellular respiration. Similarly, animals produce carbon dioxide during cellular respiration, which is then used by plants during photosynthesis.
