Mission, Vision, and Objectives of Nestle

The Mission Statement of Nestle

The mission statement of the company is that is the world’s leading nutrition, wellness and health companies, the company is committed to the customers to provide nutritious food that tastes good. They have a wide range of products, that is suitable to eat in all occasion (nestle, 2021).

The vision statement of the company is to be competitive and lead in foods that are nutritious and delivers healthy lifestyle to people, they will also improve the value of shareholder by being a corporate citizen, good employer, favoured suppliers of the products that they need to offer (Galalae, and George, 2017).

From the above mission and vision statement one thing has become clear that it has provided Nestle, a clear and effective guidance, in making proper decision. The purpose of the above-mentioned mission and vision statement is to make decisions, that aligns with the objectives of the to achieve success. Having said that the goal of the company has been mentioned in the next paragraph that will give a deep insight about the goals of the company.

The goal of the company is to provide good food and good life to people which can also be seen as the tag line used by the company. The objective of the company is to be compatible with the sticks to the mission and vision stated by the company. The company wants to be the world’s largest producer of food, while making sure that they are maintaining the quality of their products (Galalae, and George, (2017).

It is believed by many that the success of any company depends on their mission statement. Having said that the mission statement of Nestle will be analysed to see what components they have includes and what are the component they are missing, which they can revise in order to make the company more competitive in nature. It is a notion that the success of Nestle over the past hundred years is because of its mission statement, which makes it worth evaluating to see the truth behind the believe.

There are nine components that a mission statement must have to make it a complete one. These nine components are-

1. Customers

2. Products and services

3. Markets

4. Technology

5. concern for survival

6. Philosophy

7. Self-concept

8. public image

9. employees

When someone, will look at the mission statement certain components will become visible-a person will straight away get to know that it is a “health and wellness company.” From this is it clear that whatever the company manufactures are good for the health of the humans, that also consists of their packaged water. It gives an insight of their products and services that are being offered. Secondly, the phrase “worlds leading” shows that it is global company, that means it operates in most parts of the world, hence an insight of the market is also there.

Secondly,” provide consumers with the best tasting” this phrase states that the products manufactured by them, will attract more customers, more customer means more sales, which is again a good thing for an investor and other stakeholders. This also shows that the company is dedicated towards the choice of the customers (David, and David, 2017). Though specifically the targeted market is not mentioned, but as it is known the company provides a wide range of products fitting people of all age and gender. Thus, concern for survival is also is also mentioned, a knowledge about profit and growth can also be achieved to some extent, even if its not direct. Lastly, they mention that a wide range of products are available, and they do not stick to a single thing, have a lot to offer to the people, that means they put a lot of emphasis on the customers and the products offered to them.

The characteristics that are missing in the mission statement of the company is that- it does not include all the nine component a mission statement should have, it did not reveal whether the firm is socially responsible or not, it even did not mention whether the firm is environmentally responsible or not.

Out of nine only three components were prominently visible in the mission statement of Nestle- products/services, market, and concern for survival. The other six that is- technology, philosophy, self-concept, public image, and wellbeing of the employees are not mentioned. Which also forms an important part of the mission statement of not only Nestle, but other companies as well (Dyer et al., 2017).
