Understanding the Role of Public Health Protection

• A critical understanding of the role of public health protection in protecting populations from infectious diseases and environmental hazards.

2.  Demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

• Critically evaluate health protection strategies used to manage issues which impact on public health and, based on your findings, propose recommendations to prevent or reduce their impact in the future.

For the health protection related issue identified in the first assessment:

Identify and critically evaluate the prevention and control strategies currently being implemented to manage the issue within the chosen geographical area. 

Propose evidence-based recommendations to strengthen and/or improve the current prevention and control strategies to reduce its impact on public health in the future.
