Task

A written report on your chosen top 15 key events which have had the greatest impact on the air transport industry since 1903, including a full justification for each one in ranked order.

This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the following module learning outcomes:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the historical development of airports, which helped shape the development and expansion of the air transport industry

2. Describe and explain the structure scope nature and purpose of the air transport industry

3. Demonstrate and understanding of the systems of regulation which have helped facilitate the development of the air transport industry

2000 word (+/- 10%) written report on your chosen top 15 key events that have had the greatest impact on the air transport industry since 1903. See below for details.

The word count does not include a brief introduction and conclusion, but these sections are expected as part of an academic report. Please read the assignment checklist at the end of this brief before submitting your assignment.

• Appropriateimages should be used, and description given for each event.
• For each event, explain its importanceand discuss why you have chosen the event in terms of its contribution to the development of the air transport industry. This must be supported with appropriate sources of cited information (references).
• The first event is considered the most important, with the fifteenth event the least important in your opinion, in terms of their contribution to the air transport industry since 1903.
• You must reference properly both in-text and in your reference list to Harvard format.

Your work will be assessed on the extent to which it demonstrates your achievement of the stated learning outcomes for this assignment (see above) and against other key criteria, as defined in the University’s institutional grading descriptors. If it is appropriate to the format of your assignment and your subject area, a proportion of your marks will also depend upon your use of academic referencing conventions.

This assignment will be marked according to the grading descriptors for Level 4.

Given that your ranked events need to be referenced, you will need to provide a minimum of 15 references. If you choose to use additional sources, depending on your use of the source material/s, you may be able to score higher marks.

1. Top fifteen major events in the air transport industry since 1903:

a. à Describing the event and use of appropriate images and infographics for each one (20%)

b. à Explaining their impact and importance on the development of the industry and discussing why you chose them (60%)

2. Presentation (based on an academic report including a title page, contents page, introduction, main body, and conclusion, with appendices at the end if appropriate), accuracy of spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPaG) (10%)

3. References (use of Harvard in-text citations and a list of references) (10%)

This assignment should be submitted electronically. Please use the relevant Turnitin submission point in the Submit your work area in your Blackboard module shell.

Please ensure that your work has been saved in an appropriate file format.

Turnitin will only accept the following file types: Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint, PostScript, PDF, HTML, RTF, OpenOffice (ODT), Hangul (HWP), Google Docs, or plain text. Your file must also contain at least 20 words of text, consist of fewer than 400 pages and be less than 40MB in size.

You can submit your work as many times as you like before the submission date. If you do submit your work more than once, your earlier submission will be replaced by the most recent version.

Once you have submitted your work, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission, which will be sent to your forwarded e-mail address (provided you have set this up). Please keep this receipt for future reference, along with the original electronic copy of your assignment.
