The primary aim of this study is to explain the cause and effect of stress amongst the migrant workers due to the rising cost of living in Singapore. As mentioned in the first section, the migrant workers particularly in the construction industry, are going through stress which might affect their health and work performance. Putting aside the effects of inflation over the years, this study aims to determine and direct the findings to whether or not the migrant workers are feeling stressed due to the rising cost of living as one of the main stressors. The objective of this research is to aid the migrant workers ability to cope with these stress that they are facing and be a critical part in an organization’s stress management plan. Weishaar (2008) mentioned that the workplace plays an important role and the company needs to be aware of the stressors faced by the migrant workers. From these objectives and aim, the researcher will be looking at answering several questions for this study. These questions are as follows: 1. What are the main contributors of the stress that one is facing? Is it the rising cost of living? 2. How does it affect one’s work performance? 3. Are there any existing actions to help oneself cope with stress in the organization? 4. If yes, are the existing actions helpful in managing one’s stress?
