Question 5: What is the main purpose of case diagrams?
Use the scenario on the following page (page 3) and create the following:
Provide supporting narrative for the diagrams.
In this task, you are required to design an interface for the given scenario using wireframes software and to address the following core usability principles in your design for the case study on the following page (page 3):
You need to briefly explain how you have addressed each of these areas in your design. (max two pages of explanations)
The scenario includes the information and the level of detail that is expected from the initial stage of the requirement gathering process. For this reason, make any assumptions deemed necessary to make the system you are modelling more complete. This would mean filling the gaps rather than adding more requirements. Please be mindful of this as the work could end up being more demanding than required.
Grow YourFood members are passionate about growing their own food. They have their own allotments where they grow plants, fruits and vegetables. Sometimes they have more produce than they can use, so they would like to share it with other members of the group and public. They would also like to have a place where they can share some useful tips with the other members. Members who specialise in a field can advise members on specific issues related to how to plant and grow various plants/veg/fruits.
Members of the group would like to post information about superfluous plants/veg/fruits they have and specify the time and the address when / where these can be collected. If any other members or public are interested in these they would be able to request these and collect them at the specified time/place. The members would also like to share with each other useful experiences related to growing plants/veg/fruits. As some members are experts in this area, the less experienced members would like to be able to post questions for them.
Casual Visitors would only be able to read the information on the site and request any surplus plants/veg/fruits offered by the group members. They would also be able to apply to become members if they own an allotment.
Group Leader needs to approve new members’ applications and view / edit / delete any member content. Different types of events are organised from time to time. The group leader needs to post the events’ details so that the members can read. After the events the members would be able to comment on these and view the pictures posted by the group leader.
Experts are the members who specialise in agronomy. In addition to what the regular members have access to they can also upload material related to agronomy and answer questions posted by the members for them. They would also create their own profile for the members to view.
Site admin should be able to maintain general information pages, post newsletters and make sure that the information uploaded by the members is appropriate for the site and to make sure that the information is accurate and up to date.
