Subheading 1

1.This assignment must be submitted electronically by 5.00pm on the submission date

2.To submit electronically you must upload your work to the e-submission area within the NILE/Blackboard module concerned. Click Submit> Browse (find the correct file to upload) Upload> Submit

4.Please do not e-mail tutors to check if your assignment submission has been successful. For Turnitin submissions, a digital receipt will be emailed to you, but do not wait for your email. Return to the assignment and from there, you can use the download icon to save a copy of your digital receipt to your computer.

5.If submitting through Turnitin, you will receive a digital receipt as proof of submission. This will be sent to your registered e-mail address; please keep this for reference.

One time constrained assessment - worth 100% of the final module mark. Word limit: 2000 words

You will be provided with a pool of 8 questions in seminar 10 of the module (Tuesday 31st March). Four of these questions will be randomly chosen for the TCA, which will be released on Monday 11th May at 9am. You will be required to choose 2 of those questions to answer. You must submit your answers by 5.00pm on Wednesday 13th May.

Assignment guidance:

You should consider the following when preparing for your TCA:

·Each question is equally weighted

·The overall word limit is 2000 words, so each of your answers should be approximately 1000 words

·Your answers must be underpinned by relevant psychological theory and/or research, and contain appropriate referencing (APA format)

·You should demonstrate a breadth of reading that spans beyond the core concepts from lecture slides

·The Reference list is excluded from the word count

·There will be a dedicate assessment preparation seminar on 31 March to discuss assessment and help you to prepare.

·A discussion board is available on NILE for you to ask any questions relating to the TCA. The module tutor will reply quickly here to messages posted. Please post queries here rather than e-mailing the tutor (unless your enquiry is of a personal nature).

This assignment tests the following learning outcomes:

·Explain, compare and offer considered comment on significant concepts proposed at different stages of the historical emergence of Psychology.

·Advance philosophical arguments for and against rival positions in Psychology, making use of using conceptual analysis and evaluating the logical consistency of different perspectives.

·Clearly, accurately and succinctly argue a convincing case on a given issue by integrating and evaluating relevant material from a range of different sources.
