Smartech Consultancy Report: Evaluating Industry 4.0 Technologies and Characteristics of High Adopti

Smartech Consultancy has been working with various manufacturing and service organisations over a number of years. Due to the recent interest of companies in adopting new technologies and industry 4.0 principles, a team has been assigned to support small and medium companies on their digitalisation journey.

As part of the new team, your head office has asked you to produce a report on the topics below.

You are required to reference all material that you use.

1. Based on the knowledge acquired of technologies that support Industry 4.0, critically evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that their adoption may have for SMEs. For the analysis, use appropriate tools and methods covered in your course or other which you are familiar. [40 Marks]

2. Undertake a literature review and establish what characteristics would be evident in a company that has achieved a high level of adoption and maturity of Industry 4.0 principles and technologies. Compare how these characteristics would differ for a company that is just starting on an Industry 4.0 implementation journey. The following areas (as a minimum) should be considered in your answer: [50 Marks]

For task 2, you should use a minimum of 10 references.

Marks will be allocated for report presentation style, neatness, structure, grammar, use of tables, figures and referencing.  [10 Marks]

• Word limit (2,500-3,500).The word limit applies to the Individual report and include quotations, but excludes (Index, References, and Appendices,)

• First Paragraph should be the introduction or History or overall background in depth about Industry 4.0 and Digital Environment only which should come in one full page at the beginning of my report.
• After introduction start with this below information in the next paragraphs
• Based on my Module Learning Outcomes which I will be assessed are below :-
• Evaluate the readiness of industry to embrace Industry 4.0.
• Examine and asses the uses of Big Data in an engineering context and evaluate the need for cyber security, legal and ethical considerations of data management in an Industry 4.0 environment.
• Use the above technologies like Big Data in an engineering context, cyber security, IOT Internet of things etc… Or you may also refer for any other outside technologies as well which fit in here and write it in general but don’t rely on only one technology just make it generalised.And Critically evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that their adoption may have for SMEs(SMEs is Small Medium Companies). For the analysis, use appropriate tools and methods covered in your course or other which you are familiar.
