Assignment 3: Reflective Pedagogical Documentation “Through the refinement of collecting materials, careful observation and planning, the teacher becomes a more reflective practitioner. This person plans carefully, reflects regularly, is sensitive to feedback, adapts to people and circumstances as they change, and furthers his or her professional career at the same time”. (Sue Martin, 2014) Now that you webbed and have implemented the play based experiences, you need to reflect on the experiences. Learners will create pedagogical documentation that demonstrates a reflective approach. As you create your documentation think about: What did you notice about the children’s ideas? What questions came up for you? How did you respond to the children’s interests (what did you offer them)? How did the children respond to your invitations? Pedagogical documentation makes the children’s learning visible. Your documentation needs to ‘tell the story’ of the learning that occurred over the 5 week period. Within your documentation: Remember to include relevant quotes and or theoretical learning from course readings and other classes that link to the children’s play and learning Include photos, artifacts, children’s comments, and/or any other evidence to tell this story.
