Task:
Overview

Test 3 requires you to create a simple network topology and configure packet filtering firewalls using packet tracer. You will not use any reference material. During the quiz Packet tracer must be the only application open on your desktop at any time. If you are found with any other application open it will be treated as an academic offence and you will be assessed a grade of 0 on the quiz. Once you have completed the quiz you will then need to open your course shell, upload your submission, and leave the classroom.   Read through the entire Quiz first so that you completely understand what you are trying to achieve and think about a basic plan.

Part 1

Build your topology in Packet Tracer, configure IPv4 on all objects as per the schematic. Configure router and switch1 hostnames to match object names. All names should have your initials appended (e.g. R1-AR). Interfaces of the routers connected to LANs should have the first IP address from the range, and PCs can have any IP from the range. (x is last 2 digits of your student ID). Configure EIGRP for IPv4 between routers to allow communication between the LANs connected to them.

Make sure all PCs can ping each other and routing works properly, then you may save a copy of your topology at this time if you wish to use in Part 3.

Part 2

You will configure simple packet filtering in this part. The goal in our topology is to allow the branch offices in Cambridge and Kitchener to communicate with head office in Waterloo while not allowing the branch offices to communicate with each other.

Part 3

You will configure more complex packet filtering in this part. The goal in our topology is to allow the network administrators at head office in Waterloo to manage hosts in the Cambridge and Kitchener branch offices, while  network administrators in the branch offices cannot configure hosts in the head office or the other branch office. Ssh and telnet traffic will be allowed from Kitchener to both Cambridge and Kitchener. Ping traffic will be allowed between all sites.
