MS Project file 20 activities based on the requirements below Project Topic The potential employer has given you a challenge to come up with a Gantt chart in MS Project, based on a project to landscape a piece of property that is 1860 sq metres. The footprint of the house and driveway on the property is 260 sq metres so the rest of the property has to be landscaped. The potential employer has indicated the budget is a very generous $180K (so money isn't really an issue), and does not expect you to be an expert on landscaping. They want to know how well you can build a realistic WBS, create a Gantt chart in MSP, and meet stringent project requirements. For example, when they say "realistic", they expect given a budget of $180K, that the landscaping would be spectacular and it would include WBS elements to create something spectacular. Again, they are not expecting you to be a landscaping expert, and they are not expecting you to do any costing such as costing out activities. By stating there is $180K and providing the property size, they are saying you have enough money to do something spectacular. You've asked a few good questions and determined the project has to be done in 19 business days, and the minimum duration for any activity has to be one (1) day. The existing property has already been leveled via a bulldozer using the existing earth around the house which is of low quality (not suitable for growing grass or plants). You can modify the leveled ground to some degree. Build a berm here, a depression for a small pond there but no swimming pools. Assignment details: • Remember, all work must be your own original work, do NOT use images, Excel, MPP or other files, or data from any other source including others, your MPP file is to be 100% completely original, your own work. • The names of the deliverables (including Work Packages) are written as nouns (things we want or want done), the activity names as verbs (how we're going to get the thing we want, or want done) -- this means you need multiple words in the activity names. • You need to create 20 or more activities, but to keep the WBS simple you only need a project deliverable and then at least 5 deliverables below that which can all be Work Packages. • At least 10 of your 20 activities have to have a duration more than a day (vary appropriate activities between 2 and 4 days). • The project level deliverable WBS code starts at 1.0 (level 1), all WBS elements must have a WBS code including activities. • At least 5 paths (you can see this in both your Gantt view and in your Network Diagram view) • The Network Diagram has a single start activity and a single finish activity. • Use of exactly one (1) SS relationship and exactly one (1) FF relationship, but don't use these relationships at the very beginning or end of your network diagram. • Use of exactly one (1) Lead relationship and exactly one (1) Lag relationship, • Shade your Activities in light blue and your WP's in yellow. This is typically not done in practice but we're using colours for learning purposes. • Don't "orphan" any of your activities -- i.e. the finish end of all activities (the right hand end of your activity on your Gantt chart) should have at least one arrow pointing to another activity
