Group Project and Process for Project Management | Assignment Guidelines
The group project and process provides a methodology for analyzing and implementing project management topics; it is widely used to help students acquire important analytical and project management knowledge and skills, apply them while collaborating with their team.
All groups must produce a comprehensive report based on the following:
Select a project of your choice and research and plan, organize and propose project implementation and strategy based on the guidelines and topics of this course. You can make logical assumptions throughout your project and state it.
Examples of projects you can choose:
- Construction Project:Constructing a house or a Boat or a Bridge
- IT Project:Upgrading an organizationâs computer systems â Harware or Software deployment projects
- Create a project management consulting firmgiving yourselves a name and, if you wish, a logo.
- Your report should be 12-25 pages, typed double-spaced 12 point font. The names and signatures of all group members should appear on the title page.
- The members of the group should allocate the workload evenly among themselves as you will all receive the same grade, subject to adjustment as noted below. The group should nominate a project manager and a team monitor who will communicate directly to me the progress and the performance of the team.

Divide the project work equally, and make individual team members responsible and accountable for deliveries, make sure you track each team members progress and performance.

- It is expected that all individuals will behave as professionalsand that the group will use peer pressure to achieve a high standard of performance. In order to ensure that this occurs, each group member must submit a confidential evaluation form to the instructor which allocates a contribution Score in the range. The rationale for this process is to ensure that extraordinary individual contributions will be rewarded, and "free-riders" will be penalized.
- When you graduate and are hired your manager will assign you to work with other team members
- We are not born with the project management, time management, conflict resolution, and communication - skills required for high performance teamwork.
- Explicit steps should be taken to learn those skills and to deal effectively with the logistical and interpersonal problems that commonly arise in collaborative efforts.
- Members of an ineffectiveteam may spend a great deal of time in conflict over work-related or personal issues.
- Members of an effectiveteam always work togetherâ sometimes physically together and sometimes apart, but constantly aware of who is doing what. They take different roles and responsibilities, help one another to the greatest possible extent, resolve disagreements amicably, and keep personal issues (which may occur when any collection of people work together) from interfering with the team functioning.
