List of Possible Topics: Communication technology in the past:  A paper based on this topic could focus on a specific theme, medium or time period, e.g., communications in the ancient world/Middle Ages/Renaissance/nineteenth century/early twentieth century; history of tablets, scrolls, books, newspapers, magazines, radio, telephone, songs, television, internet, cell phones; how changes in communications technology have affected private enterprise/government/military/marketing and advertising/human psychology and social interaction.

The future of communication and/or communication technology:What are predictions about how new technological innovations will change the ways in which we communicate?  What impacts might new technologies (or one specific technology) have on society and how society functions?  From a business perspective, what needs to happen to commercialize some of these new technologies?  Are there any ethical issues with any of the new methods of communication?   Sound and verbal communication:  How do audiences respond to different types of sounds, music, and/or voices when they are listening to communication?  How can music and sound be used to enhance or undermine a message?  What about tone of voice, talking speed, volume, etc.?
