This is an individual assignment. As you likely realize by now, quality can be a difficult term to define. There have been many different opinions throughout history as to how it should be explained. In this module, we looked at a few of these definitions, ideas, and explanations, along with the quality leaders (Deming, Juran, Ishikawa, Feigenbaum, Crosby, and Taguchi among others) who suggested them. In this assignment you will share and briefly defend your opinion as to what the best definition of quality is. The purpose of this assignment is for you to really consider what quality means to you and, as a result, think about what quality management processes you feel are important. Assignment Grading This assignment counts for 5% of your final course grade. It is graded according to this rubric. Assignment Instructions Review the various definitions of quality and the quality leaders that we covered in the Module 1 material. Choose the definition and quality leader that you most align with. What definition of quality do you feel is most suiting? Which quality leader supports your chosen definition? In your opinion, what sets your chosen definition apart from the other ones? In what ways would adhering to this definition likely impact your approach to quality management (i.e. What would you value most? What would you value least?). Note: It is recognized that, at this point in the course, you do not know the details of what quality management includes. It is okay to be quite generalized in this portion of your essay.
