To provide an opportunity for the student to create a teaching plan that will meetthe learning needs of a client. You will be assessed on how you apply the following General Learning Outcomes: Integrate the nursing metaparadigm, nursing theory, and related knowledge into professional nursing care
Apply principles of teaching and learning to basic nursing care and to client teaching
Demonstrate reflective practice for personal and professional growth and continued competence
Examine research findings that support evidence of informed practice in the delivery of basic nursing care
Instructions
1. Choose a scenario from the list at the end of this document .
2. Read the scenario and complete the following: Introductiono Clearly identify your client and provide an outline that gives the reader an overview of who your client is, what your teaching plan is about and a brief summary of what you learned from the experience.
Assessment Data & Learning Needs: o Use the scenario to identify two learning needs for the client. o Include rationale for the learning needs (rationale: assessment data from the scenario).
Priority Learning Need & Diagnosis: o From the two identified learning needs choose onepriority learning need and write a nursing diagnosis (NANDA) related to a knowledge deficit that will require teaching
Write one goal that applies to this priority learning need/and nursing diagnosis.
Write one expected outcome (SMART criteria)
Choose two domains of learning that best fit with the identified goal & outcome, and include reference: ? Cognitive learning pertains to ability to think and includes remembering, understanding, applying,
analyzing, evaluating, and creating. (Ayzengart & Edgecombe, 2019, p. 327-328). Verbs that can be used when writing expected outcomes in the cognitive domain include compares, defines, describes, states, explains, differentiates, names, plans, solves, summarizes, identifies, and gives examples.
