Comparing and Contrasting the Haitian, American, and French Revolutions

Write a five paragraph essay, using only your notes and the resources from this unit (T charts). Create a thesis statement that directly answers the inquiry question. You must justify your choice. Be sure to compare your choice to both the other revolutions in your analysis. FACTORS to Consider when presenting arguments, clear evidence (examples) to illustrate and analysis of your evidence: 1. What was pre- revolutionary society like (socially, politically, economically)? 2. What factors influenced the revolution? (the Enlightenment, inequality or mistreatment,abuse of authority, living conditions, etc) 3. How did the revolution take place? 4. What did post-revolutionary society look like (new constitution, government, rights and freedoms, distribution of wealth, who is included, who is excluded, impact immediate or long term, stability or instability, etc.)? Some themes to consider to help organize your paragraphs: - leadership (who lead-individuals and/or groups, how did they lead, what did they do to inspire other or bring about change? what class did they represent, etc.) - systemic changes (how were the ideals of the Enlightenment realized in the society- government structure, constitutions, other institutions like banks, schools, etc. )? - Was change a result of peaceful or violent conflict? How did the revolution take place? -degree of change (how radically different was the new nation? who was included, how stable were its new institutions, its economy, how successful, longterm progress, etc ), was there a foundation for future inclusion and change? Was it an inspiration for other nations or peoples globally? Just to clarify, think of this as an "open book" essay, not a research based essay. Use only the class materials (videos, Slides, readings, podcasts and your class notes) In terms of length, the essay should be approx. 750-1000 words (3-4 pages double spaced). Select the one revolution that you believe that was the most revolutionary (Out of the 3). But when explaining why it was revolutionary you must also compare it to the other two. I want the same expert who did Order: 1305835 (This is my haitian revolution T chart) to do this essay. Also before doing the essay, I would like the same expert to do 2 more T charts on the other 2 revolutions that he will be comparing along with this one, that would help him tremendously when writing the essay. Do the same thing for the other 2 T charts of the revolutions as you did with the haitian revolution T chart (DO NOT send them to me, the other 2 T charts that you are going to do are for you to help you do the essay). I will provide the class material that the teacher provided me for the other 2 T charts for you to do. Again, do the EXACT same thing that you did with the haitian revolution T chart before writing the essay. These 2 T charts that you are going to do along with the Haitian revolution T chart that you did are going to help you write the essay. The other 2 T charts that you have to do before the essay are for: The American Revolution T chart and The French Revolution T chart. I would suggest organizing each body paragraph according to a theme, that way you will be able to clearly compare and contrast the various revolutions. The primary focus will be one revolution, however, you will need to compare and contrast with the other 2 in order to prove that one is "most revolutionary". To summarize, write a 5 paragraph essay about which is ''the most revolutionary'' revolution out of the 3 revolutions that we studied up until now (Haitian Revolution, American Revolution, French Revolution). You have done a T chart for the Haitian Revolution, I would like you to the same for the French and American revolution, that way they ( the T charts) can help you write the essay. I will provide you with the materials that you need to do the T charts as well as this essay. DO NOT do any additional research other than what I have provided you with.
