This Week I Learned: Summary of Learning and Questions

What is TWIL?

This Week I Learned is a summary of your learning, in your own words. Not a list of topics we all read about but your understanding and what you're left wondering. The main section of your TWIL includes what you learned (in your own words) and what you are left wondering. What stood out to you? What do you find that is related to your own life? (Do NOT include lists, phrases or content that is straight from the textbook. We have all read the material. Do not insert one sentence copied from the textbook. This is your own learning and must be in your own words.)

Your understanding of 2 vocabulary terms - explain, in your own words what these 2 important terms mean and why you think they are crucial to the weeks learning. You must also ask a question that can't be answered by the material. This is for your classmates to try and answer! Your question will reveal how carefully you read/watched/engaged with the material this week. (Once you make your post you will see your classmates posts and can reply to their posts.) Answer a classmates question to the best of your ability. Include any research/evidence you can find to support your answer.

The total TWIL post should be at least 200 words plus your response to another student’s question. Insert your work right into the Discussion board - no attachments, please.

NOTE: You may need to write more than the minimum requirement of 200 words to achieve a complete picture of how much you learned. Your weekly post should be in a casual/academic tone of writing. Edited but not an essay! Include any links to things you think we might all enjoy or learn from. TWILs will be marked out of 4 based on the following criteria: expression of learning, depth of engagement with the material, connections made between material, insights gained, development of questions yet to be answered. Here's where you show us what you learned! You must try and respond to a question posed by your peers. Each post is worth 3% toward your final grade.
