Pal Family
Raj (40 years old) and Sharon (38 years old) married with 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys. Rajâs mother (75) and father (80) also live with them in their basement. Rajâs dad is diabetic with other comorbidities, his mother has glaucoma and Osteoprosis. The whole family moved from abroad to Canada about a year ago. They are all multilingual. Rajâs background is Indian and Sharonâs is Spanish. They are both proud of their culture. They both met in England while they were studying in University. Sharonâs parents have been living in Canada from past 10 years also recently moved closer to their house so that they can stay in touch with the grandkids. Sharonâs dad is 64 healthy and working full time. Sharonâs mom 66 yrs old is retired nurse likes to volunteer most of the time. Considering going back to work to save more money.
Raj is working part-time in an IT Company and also drives truck to support family immediate needs. He sometimes is away from home for 1-2 days tends to smoke under stress. Sharon is working full time at a local grocery store and studying part-time to update her credentials. Sharon does most of the household work along with cooking and cleaning- multitasking! The family loves eating together and watching TV together. They do not have much time for exercise. Grandparents hesitant to monitor kids playing outside. They are considering to find a day care for the younger girl as she is very active. Both Raj and Sharon are working stressful jobs- finding it challenging to balance life and time.
Grandparents-(75 and 80 years old) - Cook occasionally, miss their home country, less social circle, somewhat dependent on their kids for transportation and language translation for appointments. They love eating spicy food and desserts- always encouraging Sharon to cook traditional food.
Kristina â 3 years old- active, requires constant attention, wants to do everything herself, chatty- loves to express herself. Always putting her toys or thumb in her mouth. Tends to hide food. Picky eater. Feeding her is time consuming and a challenge. Like to watch Cartoons while eating. Underweight. Kristina does not like to play with siblings.
Krish â 10 years old- likes to play outside- loves basketball. Shy, tends to play with his friends at school during the break, very quiet in the class room. Mom always worried about Krish getting hurt at school. Â He likes math but struggling with reading and writing. Grandparents would like Krish to learn his mother languages along with English. He loves watching TV and playing video games. Finds it challenging to share 1 iPad with siblings. Loves to eat.
Karan- 16 years old - Overweight- tends to eat outside with friends. Likes to go out- Gets good grades - not worried about school. Very lazy as per mom. Always has assigned household chores but requires lots of encouragement. Eager to get his driverâs license and part-time job. Thinks his parents are least worried about him. His friends tends to smoke. Wants to

Please review the case study, discuss the family, select a family member to discuss typical developmental pattern from physical, cognitive (Piaget) and psychosocial (Erik Erickson) perspective. You are required to identify various age groups of all the family members in the Case Study. Identify their lifespan Stages and circumstances- (Consider environment and Social Determinants of Health).
Second Paragraph:
You will select an individual out of the case study to focus your assessment and provide support using lifespan development theory. (Infancy, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescence, Young/Middle Adulthood, Late Adulthood). Please introduce your individual and their Lifespan stage in the paragraph. You will discuss the physical, cognitive and psychological health of the member and support findings from case study with lifespan development theory.
You will choose an appropriate screening tool (risk/wellness) which may help you to gather more data about the individual. Briefly explain the tool and its significance for your assessment. Describe the screening tool.
In the final paragraph â Identify potential issues in this family environment which could affect the health, growth and development of the member. Also, discuss health promotion that would be appropriate to the person or developmental stage you are discussing in your paper. You can utilize a Health Promotion that is already available from reliable sources. (Public Health, Peel Region, Heart and Stroke, etc). You will need to provide support for your choice of Health Promotion from credible sources.
