As you begin to take charge of your own career development it is essential that you really know yourself. You have talents, strengths, and skills (some may even be hidden at this point). This assignment helps you map these as well as make a road map or action plan to ensure you graduate with a portfolio that helps you reach your post-university goals.
Part 1: The LEAN Career Design Canvas (10%). Included in the assignment package is an advanced organizer form called the LEAN Career Design Canvas designed by Adriano Magnifico, who provided us with permission to adapt for this course (click here for more background information on the canvas).
For the first part of this assignment, use the canvas form to collect and generate insights about yourself and your career vision to create an identity map. You are welcome to customize the canvas, create your own, or use a mind mapping App or draw your own, as long as you address all sections on the LEAN Career Design Canvas. Be as detailed and explicit as possible.
Part 2: Reflection (10%). Once you completed your identity map, complete write self-reflection that addresses the following questions:
· How do you think you will be able to use this map to help you create a high-quality portfolio that showcases your talent, skills, and experiences?
· Which of the sections do you think you have a good start on?
· Which of the sections do you think you will need to build on?
· To conclude, what patterns or connections did you discover by completing the canvas? How do these connections relate to your career development?
